Becoming Israel – Leaving Babylon, Leaving Religion, and feeling…IT’S BY DESIGN

ABOUT THIS TEACHING

This Teaching addresses the isolation many believers experience after leaving familiar religious systems and re-examining long-held traditions. It presents becoming Israel as joining the people of God through covenant and faith in Yeshua, and uses Jacob’s solitary wrestling encounter as the central model for a season of separation, searching, transformation, and ‘crossing over.’ The Teaching encourages listeners to test inherited doctrines against Scripture, seek Yahovah diligently, accept that conviction may carry relational costs, and understand the wilderness season as a setting in which convictions can become personal rather than merely inherited.

The pain of isolation

becoming Israel leaving Babylon leaving religion and feeling alone it’s by Design and you’re going to learn what I mean by that the course of the lesson but I think most of you if not all of you can can express some of this sentiment if not most of it the feelings of being alone uh I’ve had countless emails probably in the last four or five months many of them sharing these sentiments Ed I’ve recently left my church or I’ve recently been kicked out of my church for my new convictions and we’re alone we have no

Fellowship we have no friends we’re we we have no church we’ve tried this church or that church only to be dismayed by the progressive nature of those churches or the fact that they reject Torah or you know the list goes on and on that that sentiment has been uh very common in the emails uh people sent to me when they introduced themselves to me many of you in this group have expressed that sentiment it’s it’s I can express this sentiment when I came to conviction on these things it didn’t sit well with my church and I was sarily

exiled as a result of it others of you weren’t exiled but you left a system on your own uh because you were discouraged by the things that she were seeing but this being alone business this this being kind of out there is painful and it’s difficult to experience you don’t you’re not sure how to interpret what’s going on on you’re not sure how to understand why it’s happening and so I felt that it was important for us to talk about this and I hope that that you find yourself encouraged by the time that we are done

here when does a person first thing I wanted to do is I wanted to um address a couple of questions before we actually

Becoming Israel

get into the lesson uh David Baron was instrumental in helping me uh with this because as much as I’ve talked about the fact that we become Israel David thought it was important at least to touch base on a few things just to remind people I and I agree the question is when does a person become Israel the question that David asked and know he wasn’t asking of himself he was he was asking as if an audience member would would ask it does he or she become Israel when they’re converted do they become Israel when they start obeying the commands when does this process

happen well biblically a person becomes Israel when they have joined Israel by coming under Covenant think about Mount Si here in Mount Mount Si we see in Deuteronomy 29 it says all of you stand today before the Lord your God your leaders your tribes your elders and your officers all the men of Israel your little ones and your wives also the stranger that’s a gentile who was in your Camp from one who cuts your wood to the one who draws your water that you may enter into a covenant with the Lord your God so notice that not just Israel but even the stranger is entering this Covenant with

the Lord your God into his oath which the Lord your God makes with you today that he may establish you today as a people for himself and that he may be God to you again both Israel and the stranger he’s saying this to just as he has spoken to you just as he has sworn to your fathers to Abraham Isaac and Jacob I make this Covenant and this oath not with you alone but with him who stands here with us today before the Lord Our God as well as with him who is not with us

today now I always thought that that last sentence was striking because when you think about who was there at that moment the answer is all of Israel all of Israel was there today there were no straggling Israelites roaming the hillside there were no other camps of Israel’s tribes outside of the desert at this time all of Israel who had come out of Egypt were standing there today so when he says as well as with him who is not here with us today that can only mean one thing that can only mean everybody else in the world if they want to enter into a covenant with the Lord and become part

of his people that he may be their God but in order for that to happen they would need to enter the Covenant this Covenant that I’m talking about that being the old Covenant that we all know

Joining God’s people

was not only a marriage and by the way if you don’t realize that it was a marriage it was also a contract in basic terms this Covenant the de details of the Covenant I will be your God and bless you you will be my people obey my commands and worship and serve only me so that was the basis of this Covenant he wanted to be our God our husband and bless us beyond belief and he required that we just obey him Love Him worship Him and serve only me what does that sound like sounds like when I got

married we made vows to each other we promised that each other would be the only person that we would love serve and the same was true for Gentiles who wanted to join them they would enter into that same Covenant we see in Isaiah 14:1 for the Lord will have mercy on Jacob and will choose Israel and settle them in their own land the strangers will be joined with them and they will cling to the house of Jacob the Gentiles will be joined with them in that same Covenant and then of course we understand that the entire Book of Ruth really is

typology about how Ruth a non-israelite woman would become the wife of an Israelite man man and it’s typology in that that’s what would is what would happen in the future when the Gentiles were grafted in to God’s kingdom Ruth said entreat me not to leave you or to turn back from following after you for wherever you go I will go and wherever you Lodge I will Lodge your people shall be my people and your God my God so here Ruth in her words Naomi is is is the same sentence the same sentiment the same reality of what happens when a gentile becomes Israel under the New

Faith and citizenship

Covenant it’s the same as well biblically a person becomes Israel biblically now a person becomes Israel when they put their faith in Christ thereby joining what Paul calls the citizenship or the Commonwealth of Israel in Ephesians 2 so when does a person actually become Israel well again biblically that’s when it happens I say I stress biblically because most of us didn’t realize this when we put our faith in Christ we we were living in our lives as Gentile Believers even though those words don’t belong together there’s no such thing as a gentile believer because once you become a Believer you become Israel therefore no

longer a gentile we didn’t understand that so so when I say biblically I I want you to understand that according to the Bible a person under the New Covenant becomes Israel at their conversion however because of the quote unquote worthless and unprofitable things inherited from our fathers as Jeremiah T taught us things like replacement theology dispensationalism supersessionism we were deprived of this knowledge instead of being taught that we were becoming Israel we were told that we were God’s choice after Israel rejected the Messiah thus becoming something altogether different and we those of us in this

group and maybe you who are watching had to wait for the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to us and he has there has been an Awakening in the body of Christ around the world where people are starting to realize on their own the leading of the Holy Spirit teaching them you’re not just a believer you’re not just a gentile believer you are actually Israel and then this question here what does it

Misunderstandings

mean to join Israel how how does that happen there’s some confusion on this there’s a common misunderstanding about what it means to become Israel to become Israel does not mean that you are becoming Jewish or Hebrew it does not mean that you are joining the nation of Israel it does not mean that you are required to follow their cultural customs and does not mean that you need to start learning the Hebrew language although I would encourage you to do that if you can even see little words it’s helpful to understand your Bible the same is also true with Greek it does mean that you are joining

the chosen people of God that’s what it means to join Israel of all the nations in the world Israel is the only only nation that God has called his own people and this is important because God doesn’t have Israel and then another group of people over here that are also his people called by a different name you cannot justify that statement from the Bible biblically it’s only Israel so if it’s only Israel and we want to follow him ifof facto we have to become a part of those people a part of that entity I’m hoping this is making sense we see here in Deuteronomy 7 for

you Israel are a holy people to the Lord your God the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for himself a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth Isaiah 43:1 but now thus says the Lord who created you oh Jacob and he who formed you oh Israel fear not for I have redeemed you I have called you by your name you are mine so before we go on those two verses amongst many more I just chose those two because they’re a couple of my favorite verses I chose those two because these

verses Express the sentiment that I expressed earlier about Israel being his chosen people and as Gentiles we are grafted into those people they are the Olive Tree and we are grafted into that olive tree we come as Paul puts it from a wild olive tree that meaning from the world it’s an olive tree in and of itself but us we branches are grafted into that tree and guess what we don’t bear different fruit than the original Olive Tree of course not we are given a name better than that of sons and daughters so we are actually becoming a part of that same

tree and both the old Covenant and the New Covenant were given to and for Israel this is huge for a lot of people a lot of people want to believe that the old Covenant was for Israel and the New Covenant was for the church Gentiles and that can’t be farther from the truth in Jeremiah 31 it says behold the

Both covenants for Israel

days are coming and by the way what your getting ready to read here is one of the few prophecies about the New Covenant in the Old Testament behold the days are coming says the Lord when I will make a New Covenant that’s the Covenant that we’re under now but who is this New Covenant for I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah H so both covenants were given to Israel so I’m sharing this verse to drive home the point that we need to become Israel

we have to become the people of Israel to be inside this covenant not according to the Covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt my Covenant which they broke though I was a husband to them says the Lord but this is the Covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days says the Lord I will put my law in their minds and write it in their hearts not abolish it not throw it out not nail it to the Cross I’m going to put my law in their

minds and write it on their hearts I will be their God and they shall be my people so okay here we are we are looking at a prophecy about the New Covenant and the father here is saying that under that New Covenant they shall be my people who’s the they Israel even under the New Covenant so again it behooves us to understand that we have to become Israel I have a question can you please CL ify you say it does not mean that you’re joining the nation of Israel but then it

says that you are joining the chosen people of God which are the nation of Israel so that seems to contradict itself can you clarify that yes thank you for bringing that up now what I meant to say there was you are not joining the the country of Israel the modern National national state yes the state of Israel You’re not joining the state of Israel okay that’s a confusing and thank you for bringing that up lauan because when you study this stuff out um Israel goes by a lot of names in the

Bible they are the the the nation of Israel they are the people of Israel they are the house of Israel they are Jacob they are Ephraim all these people are synonymous and so I can understand the confusion but when I what I said there at the top that you’re not joining the nation of Israel I’m saying you’re not joining the state the government you don’t have to move there you don’t have to become a citizen because I mean we are asked to join them I mean so I guess that needs further clarification not joining them like we need to become a citizen of it but we are joining

them uh in Partnership or in prayer and they having their back I mean because there is a delineation about how we’re to join them right the delineation is this think of the people of Israel in the Old Testament as typology okay they are the type of what would eventually become the Fulfillment what is the Fulfillment the Fulfillment is not the the uh the governmental state or nation of Israel the Fulfillment is that God’s people would be called Israel that would be the canopy under which his people would be called but now now it’s more of a and I hate to use this word

because it’s overused but it’s now a spiritual Israel not a physical one because as you recall from the study we did on Remnant not everybody who is bloodline Israel is Israel a Jew isn’t a Jew outwardly he’s one inwardly okay and and those these are the things that Paul was trying to help us understand and so the typology is that the omen the foreshadowing was a physical nation of Israel the Fulfillment will be a spiritual nation of Israel where there is no Jew or Greek male or female we are just God’s people Israel but nonetheless we still have to join that Israel through our faith in Christ okay

The Gentile inclusion

now if we look at what Israel means is it’s that we’re looking at who that God is is ruling it’s it’s Jehovah God you recognize you’re submitted to Jehovah God and like you say here is that with the Jewish people or with the Jacob the tribe you know when you think of when God called people out that were righteous because they saw God and they accepted the true living God and then when you take that you fall underneath that and then when you have

Christ give you know what are the two commands you should follow love your God with all your heart mind and soul and love your neighbor as yourself which is a result of the love of God showing through you so you’re part of Israel and there’s more to it and I won’t go into that but the the picture is is that you recognize who the true God is and that puts you into the camp you know into Sacred Space and then what you how it works through you and how it’s U manifested through your actions

you then goes back to the discipleship one you had a couple weeks back but the point being is that you recognize Jehovah God as your God and and that’s the first part of being that being part of Israel of Israel is that you’re part of you recognize that is the true God there’s no other God and he’s separating the people you know from that amen amen thank you David number two when a gentile comes to Faith they join Israel and we see this in Isaiah 56

don’t let the son of the Foreigner who has joined himself to the Lord and that’s a key phrase who has joined himself to the Lord speak saying the Lord has utterly separated me from his people nor let the unic say here I am a dry tree for thus says the Lord to the Unix who keep my sabbaths and choose what pleases me and hold fast my Covenant so there’s conditions to join Israel keeping the Sabbath choosing what pleases him that’s his will laid out in scripture and holding fast to the Covenant even to them I will give in my

house and within my walls a place and a name better than that of sons and daughters I will give them an everlasting name that should not be cut off also the sons of the Foreigner who joined themselves to the Lord to serve him and to love the name of the Lord to be his servants everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath and holds fast my Covenant even them I will bring to my Holy Mountain and make them joyful In My House of Prayer so we as Gentiles hold fast to the New Covenant that’s given to Israel thereby joining ourselves to the Lord as Isaiah says here in chapter

56 we also hold fast to that Covenant like David number two says we put our faith and yahovah is our only God and we join ourselves to the Lord there therefore coming under Covenant the way I’ve had to take this our church always taught that legalism was was a burden and all that but what I’ve looked at it from is if we love him we do what he asked us to do and because a covenant is a marriage relationship so that’s that’s my take on it yep amen amen so becoming

The awakening

Israel yes this looks long but I’ll go through it fast it’s important okay hold with me some of you ask for bigger text so I put things in bigger texts which makes it look bigger so it’s not that doesn’t it’s not actually that big we have extensively discussed the grafting of the Gentiles into the Olive Tree of Israel in multiple conversations unfortunately most of Christendom remains unaware of this foundational Biblical teaching either due to a lack of understanding or the prevalence of replacement theology commonly taught in many American churches however through the work of the Holy Spirit more people are beginning to ask questions about the rest of the

Bible questions like why don’t we honor the Sabbath or how can I learn more about the festivals seem to arise unexpectedly for many personally after 40 years as a Believer I only discovered the ways of the Lord 8 years ago before then they weren’t even on my radar until one day they were and that’s the Holy Spirit and I experienced what I can only describe as an Awakening this Awakening not only opened my eyes to the fullness of God’s word yah’s word but embracing it also cost me my membership in the church that I had grown up in many of you are experiencing the same stirring

finding that the more you seek the truth in scripture the more you begin to question long-held traditions and practices that may not align with God’s commands this journey often leads to being exiled from your fellowships in some cases even from your family members in the many emails I’ve received over the past few months this feeling of isolation has been expressed repeatedly people frequently ask what do I do now and where can I find Fellowship unfortunately I don’t have the answers to those questions the only thing that I can tell you is that I know this to be by his design during this process you

are becoming Israel and I’m going to explain that last sentence the more we go on now in f for for future reference if you’re watching this and you’re hearing words like grafting or Commonwealth of Israel Theology and you want to understand what that means these videos are the ones that um you need to watch and I’ll link these in the description of the video but those go into great detail about what it means to become Israel Jacob is our model for becoming Israel and this is a picture here of Jacob obviously wrestling with the

Jacob as the model

Lord let’s read this p message as I was thinking about these emails as I was thinking about people who have shared their sense of loneliness and feeling like they’re in the desert I felt like I was being nudged by the Holy Spirit and I thought about Jacob and when I read this story I thought holy cow Jacob was left alone and a man wrestled with him until the breaking of day now when he saw that he did not Prevail against him when God saw that he did not Prevail against him he touched

the socket of his hip and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as he wrestled with him and he said let me go for the day breaks but he he said Jacob said I will not let you go unless you bless me so he said to him what is your name he said Jacob and he said your name is no longer Jacob but Israel for you have struggled with god with men men and have prevailed then Jacob asked saying tell me your name I pray and he said why is that you ask about my name and he

blessed him there so Jacob called the the name of the place pineal for I have seen God face to face and my life is preserved just as he crossed over to panal the sun arose on him and he limped on his hip I’m here to tell you that everything that we need to know and understand about our circumstances right now can be understood Within These seven verses Jacob was left alone haven’t we all shared

The necessity of solitude

this this feeling of loneliness isolation to be alone with yahovah is where transformation begins it’s in this Solitude that you’re free from outside influences free from the voices of Family friends and those who seek to impose their doctrines upon you in this space you are forced to confront what you truly believe and how it aligns with scripture you are freed to examine his word without detractors and once you do this what comes next the wrestling the wrestling comes next it’s not until you’re alone that you’re truly wrestling with God think about Moses who spent 40 days alone with God on Mount Si where he received the

law think about Elijah who was alone with God on Mount Horeb you’re searching for God’s voice in the thunder in the loud noises that finally appeared to him in a whisper think about Jeremiah who said I did not sit in the Assembly of the mockers he would not sit in the Assembly of the people that he was preaching to I sat alone because of your hand Ezekiel arise God tells him arise go out to the plain and there I shall talk with you he got Ezekiel away from the people into the plain where he wanted to talk with him John the Baptist was in the deserts till the day

of his manifestation to Israel he was alone and of course Yeshua himself spent 40 days in the wilderness to face his greatest tests you have to be alone it’s not until you’re

Wrestling for the blessing

alone that God is going to deal with you face to face this is a prophecy to Ephraim we’ve looked at it before in our uh second Exodus series but it’s very important we are Ephraim we are those who would join Israel by joining the tribe the Hal tribe of epim which is a Hal tribe of Joseph so when you see prophecies about epim in your Old Testament you need to have your ears perk up because that’s a reference to you as I live says the Lord God surely with a mighty hand with an outstretched arm and with Fury ored out I will rule

over you I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you are scattered Ed with a mighty hand with an outstretched arm and with Fury poured out and I will bring you into the Wilderness alone I will bring you into the Wilderness of the peoples and there I will plead my case with you face to face where when you’re alone I will plead my case to you face to face just as I pleaded my case case to your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt so I will plead my case

with you says the Lord your God I will make you pass under the rod that’s a reference of discipline many of us are feeling that as well during this time but all of that everything that he said has one purpose to bring you into the bond of the Covenant to reintroduce you if you will to what it means to be Israel so I want you to understand brother sister those of you who have sent me emails begging for help and understanding as to what’s going on in your life why are you alone why are you without Fellowship because what you are going through is happening for a reason it’s by

Design imagine wrestling all night long why when I read this I’ve read this A Thousand Times by the way probably just like you have it never to dawn on me I was just saying this to somebody in the chat before the the the lesson started there’s there’s things I’ve read in my Bible a thousand times that are just today starting to make sense to me and this is one of them as a teenager I tried to be a wrestler believe that or not if you know me I’m 6’4 and 300 lb when I was a teenager I was tall and skinny and I tried to be a wrestler

because someone said I would be good at it and I failed miserably cuz I when you wrestle somebody if you’re a Grappler just three minutes just three minutes of intense intense uh wrestling and you’re sucking some serious wind you’re just even as a teenager I was just worn out after three minutes and here the Bible says that Jacob wrestled all night until the breaking of day he wrestled all night and this needs to tell us something he didn’t

Seeking truth diligently

stop until he got the black in as hard as it was as difficult as it was as heavy as he was breathing as much as the strength was leaving his muscles he didn’t stop until he got the blessing so much so that the Bible said God didn’t Prevail against Jacob he didn’t win and we have to think of the parallels here and this again verses that we’ve looked at many many times seeking him with all of our heart and all of our soul when you’re in distress all these things are going to come to you in the latter days when you

turn to the Lord your God and obey his voice so you’re seeking trying to find answers to the scriptures that are blowing your mind for the first time is this wrestling is this seeking God is this not letting go of him until you understand and of course we know the parable in Luke 18 where the Bible says that this Widow would wear God out with her prayers we have to be the same we have to approach our experience during this desert alone time the same we have to not let go of God until we understand we have to not we can’t give up the wrestle until we know the

truth and then he goes on to say I will not let you go until you bless me Deuteronomy 4:29 I love these next few passages because of the promises that are in them he says when we seek the Lord Lord Our God with all of our heart soul strength and mind what’s going to happen you will find him not you might find him not good luck when you wrestle like Jacob with the word with the truth and you seek Him above all during this time we have the promise that he will be found Jeremiah 29 you will seek me and what you will

find me when you search me with all of your heart I will be found by you when you wrestle when you seek when you struggle when you’re alone and you’re looking for the truth he will be found I love those who love me those who seek me diligently will find me so we have these absolute promises from the father but he will not give his treasures to the one that will not dig and some of us who are watching this may resonate with that last St statement we’re not digging enough we’re not searching enough and so

that lost feeling just continues and the solution is what I’m telling you here brothers and sisters as you you can’t give up the wrestle you have to be willing to wrestle all night long as it were for Jacob and not rest until you get the blessing of his understanding you have to dig down and when you find a nugget you keep digging and then once you go a little further you find a bigger nugget and you’re like oh my gosh this is amazing I finally understand a b or c and then you keep digging and you find another nugget and it’s

bigger surely there must be a vein somewhere down here that I’m going to find and there is but if you’re not willing to dig if you’re not willing to wrestle if you’re not willing to search you won’t get that blessing of course we know this the The Parables from Yeshua in this regard the

The turning point

Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hello like treasure hidden in a field which a man found and hidden for Joy over it he goes and sells all that he has in buys that field you’ve you’ve found a nugget you’ve discovered it in this field that you’re in all by yourself now it’s time to go all in on that field Matthew 13 Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant singing Beautiful pearls who when he found one pearl of great price went and sold all that he had and bought that pearl of great price but again he’s not going to give his treasures to those unwilling to dig let’s

continue your name shall no longer be Jacob but Israel for you have struggled with God and man and have prevailed I wanted to take a look here at these two names um Jacob comes from the word akab as you know because he came out holding his brother’s heel uh that that word means to follow the heel as Sidious insidiously circumvent overreact and of course we know that’s what he did so a Jacob was given his name for for multiple reasons one that he was grabbing the heel of his brother as he was born but we also know that he was a deceiver

right and here in this moment God changed his name he he gives him the name Israel or yel go because he strove with God the point I’m trying to make here is that this encounter with Jacob was a turning point

Becoming a new person

in Jacob’s life prior to this jacob had been characterized by deception and striving for personal gain by wrestling with yahovah Jacob confronts not only his physical challenge but also his identity and after this event his name changed from heel Grabber or supplanter to he who strives with God it was a huge turning point in his life this is the moment that Jacob’s life was changed forever there was a very clear before this moment and after this moment for Jacob when he confronted God when he wrestled with God when he strove for the blessing when he wouldn’t let go until he understood until he had received the

blessing that was the turning point for Jacob in his life and many if not most of you would admit the very same thing about your life the first time that you quote unquote discovered that the ways of the Lord were never abolished that the food laws were for your health that the Sabbath was God loving you and giving you a day of rest in him that the festivals were all about Yeshua from beginning to end you had that very same before and after moment you were never the same your Bible suddenly came to life and you were seeing things that you just seem to

miss for so many years and many if not most of us wrestled with God during this time is what I’m seeing the truth how can this be how did I miss this you lived with cognitive distance for a time because you were wrestling with this Doctrine or that Doctrine digging for the truth trying to separate Traditions from what God actually said and this was a painful and stressful process and maybe you’re there now but you were and hopefully some of you are determined to know the truth whatever it is and wherever it leads you and just like Jacob this process you were becoming Israel because your heart was

being circumcised during the process but as much as this experience

Blessings and costs

blessed you it also left you injured I couldn’t help but notice that as a result of Jacob’s experience here all the blessings that he got the new name that he got he didn’t leave unscathed he limped on his hip for the rest of his life and like Jacob your experience of coming out of Babylon your experience of coming out of religion and discovering the truth and holding to the truth above all else has left you injured you you’ve lost some friends you may have lost some family members because of the things that you see in your Bible and refuse to deny and

like Jacob you have been left injured he walked with a limp the rest of his life as a direct result of this interaction with God a momentary reminder of his of the beauty of this moment and the pain of this moment and we can all say the same thing right as we think about our desert experience as we think about this alone time this isolation there’s both Beauty and pain in it the blessings and the cost like Jacob we will not fare any differently and Yeshua reminded us of this don’t think that I came to bring

peace on the earth I didn’t come to bring peace with a sword I have come to set a man against his father a daughter against her mother a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law and a Man’s enemies will be those of his own household why because one of you is standing on the truth and the other is not a servant is not greater than his master if they persecuted me and they did they will also persecute you so you will not leave this experience of becoming Israel and learning and holding to the truth at no cost to you there will be many costs following Yeshua

and then he says here at the end for I have seen God face to face and my life is preserved just as he crossed over Pineo the sun rose on him and he limped on his hip I gave this verse a great deal of thought even called a close brother of mine and talk to him about it because it it spoke to me and maybe it it will to

Dealing with God alone

you remember that Jacob seeing God face to face is typology for him it was a literal experience but for us it’s more spiritual nature yet it’s still entirely real for us even though it’s spiritual dealing with God face to face means that you must deal with the scripture alone I stress this alone stuff intentionally because we all know that Fellowship with brothers and sisters is a good thing it’s Godly fellowship with our churches is a good thing it’s Godly but when we stand before God someday he’s not going to be concerned about what church you were a member of he’s not going to be concerned about

the people you fellowshipped with what he is going to be concerned about is you and your belief and your convictions and your life so dealing with God face to face means that you must deal with the scripture alone not somebody else giving you convictions or beliefs you arriving at them you must seek it out you must strive to understand you must ask him for wisdom you must deal with the Fallout and cost of deciding to follow Yeshua you alone must face him him and decide that she will put him above all else it’s only after you face him that you quote unquote cross

over now as I was thinking about Jacob’s experience here it says that he at the beginning of this uh section of scripture it tells us that this all happened at the Ford of jbac

Crossing over

right what’s the fort of jbac when you look at it on a map that line going down the middle of your screen from top to bottom is the Jordan River and jabak or jabak is a tributary that flows in to the Jordan River the Ford is that place where javic or any river that matter joins another river right there at that spot where it gets shallow because the sediment that’s flowing from jabak is Flowing towards the Jordan and all that sentiment is deposited there where the one river meets the other so it creates this shallow spot it’s called the Ford of

jabak and so the Bible tells us that once he had seen God to face to face and his life was preserved and he had been given a new name he crossed over he crossed over what he crossed over the Jordan why was he going that way well if you remember from the Bible he was going to meet his brother Esau to hopefully make amends for the theft of his Birthright and so this moment of crossing over for Jacob was very much like the crossing over of his grandfather Abraham he crossed over a different River where he became the first Hebrew the land promised to his

ancestors he was coming into that land and this was the same land that Jacob was coming into as he crossed over the Jordan River so for you and

A new destiny

I we don’t cross over a physical River we cross over to a new understanding when wisdom enters our heart we cross over the barrier that kept us from seeing who God really is and what he really stands for for and what he really wants we cross over to understand who we really are as his people when we realize holy cow I am Israel that’s a crossing over moment for us Psalms 1119 says open my eyes that they may see wondrous things from your law from your Torah Luke 24 then their eyes were opened and they knew him Luke 24 again he opened their

understanding that they might comprehend the scriptures that’s a crazy verse because he’s talking to men who were raised on the Torah and yet he had to open their understanding Open the Eyes of their heart so that everything that they have been reading all of their life suddenly makes sense and that’s what it was like for so many of us when we had this crossing over moment all these things that we didn’t understand oh my gosh now they’re all making sense and you know what that’s the Lord opening your understanding so that you can comprehend the scriptures because you are seeking him and wrestling with him

alone to understand the truth we cross over when our eyes are open to the fullness of his word just like Jacob receiving a new name it’s also our destiny it’s it’s really cool we read this verse earlier Isaiah 56 says that we’re going to be getting a new name like Jacob and that day I will give him an everlasting name that shall not be cut off Isaiah 62 the Gentiles shall see your righteousness all the kings Your Glory you shall be called by a new name which the mouth of the Lord will name you

shall also be crowned be crowned of Glory Revelation 2 he who has an ear let him hear what the spirit says to the churches to him who overcomes I will give some of the Hidden Mana to eat and I will give him a white stone and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it just like Jacob it’s your destiny to be renamed and and the cool thing about it is no one one’s going to know the name or what it means except for you a little secret between you and the Lord that I think somehow is going to

fit in with your personality and your character and your just your life I’ve shared this before I’ll share it again to help you understand what Yeshua is saying here when I was a part of a campus ministry many years ago we had a guy leading it who was kind of a wild man his name was Randy and one night he gathered me and three or four other leader Brothers in his house we all LED smaller Ministries smaller Bible talks under his leadership and he started handing people little gifts little Trinkets and telling him why I gave you this

trinket and when it got to my turn he handed me a pair of Dy rolling Dy card playing D or Dice and I was like wow what’s this is weird and he goes Ed the reason I’m giving you this as a gift is because as long as I’ve known you you’ve always been the kind of a person that’s willing to roll the dice fearlessly in your efforts to obey God wherever it took you wherever it cost you you rolled the dice and I’ve never forgotten that and I think that when Yeshua gives us a new

name I think it’s going to be like that he’s going to give us a little white stone and on it written a name that only you and he understand because you wrestled because you didn’t give up because he kept digging my conclusion it’s important for you

Summary of the journey

brother or sister to fully grasp both what is happening to you and was happening for you during this time like Jacob you have found yourself alone separated from what you once knew you’ve come out of Babylon leaving behind systems of religion that no longer serve the truth within you whether by choice or by necessity you have entered the Wilderness a desert experience where the father desires to meet you face to face embrace the process resist the urge to quickly return to a flawed and potentially apostate system simply to satisfy your longing for Fellowship fellowship with him engage with him learn learn from

him this pain this wrestling is transforming you in ways that will shape your walk forever trust me it is in this Wilderness during this time of isolation and struggle that you’re going to grow the most here you’ll be forced to confront your Traditions to examine your man-made doctrines and to allow them to be tested by the truth of God’s word it’s a stripping away of the old refining fire that will leave you purified and strengthened for the journey ahead and we know what that is that journey is hold fast the sacred encounter will change the course of your life just as it did for Jacob and when

the wrestling is over you will walk in a newness of Life although limping as it were not leaning on the crutches of human systems but standing firm in the foundation of the father’s voice his truth and his leading and that is our discussion and I wanted to get your

Q&A and closing

thoughts good bad or ugly comments rebukes I’ll take them all yeah I had a question um do you have any idea why why it was the hip that the angel touched I wanted to bring that up in the in my lesson but I didn’t the hip was a a symbol of authority in ancient Hebrew uh many many times if you were to make a vow or a promise you would you would put your hand under someone’s butt when you made that vow or you made that promise because you were touching

the authority there uh and so that’s why I think that’s that’s the answer to your question maybe the limp that Jacob had as a result of that was a constant reminder of who his authority was somebody else I have a question on a second GL number two is sharing in Ezekiel 33 you were talking you read scripture about being uh passing under the rod yes and an an alternate meaning of of passing under the rod is how they would take all the uh animals that were born in a year and run them through a shoot and then every 10th animal would get

doed because that was the tithe and so it also has has the U the meaning of being Chosen and amen thank you appreciate that okay somebody who wanted to share I think it was Juan was starting to share can you just repeat What Glenn said because I I don’t think it came through so he he was giving an alternative um description of what it means to pass under the rod we looked at this in the um second Exodus video passing under the rod a Shepherd would obviously carry a rod and it’s used to discipline the flock but he was saying that the alternative viewpoint on that which I

still think is equally as beautiful is that when the Sheep would go through a Shute e the the tenth sheep that went through would be tapped with the rod that would mark it for the tithe so I think that’s a beautiful description as well being Chosen and being chosen yes somebody else how does one truly SE God with all his heart prayer Bible study yeah I mean the the simple answer to that one is prayer Bible study seeking certain things out uh for for me it was a matter 1 hour, 1 minute, 7 seconds of um trying to find out what was man-made tradition and what was actual

1 hour, 1 minute, 17 seconds Bible and uh it started for me with uh the festivals and then I moved on to shabbat 1 hour, 1 minute, 25 seconds and I moved on to food laws I wanted to know the truth of these things because I understood the Christian viewpoint on these things but I I wanted to know what 1 hour, 1 minute, 33 seconds the Bible actually said now that’s where it started for me but since then it’s moved on to other things a deeper 1 hour, 1 minute, 41 seconds

understanding of uh of uh things in my Bible especially in the Old Testament that I didn’t understand when I read my 1 hour, 1 minute, 50 seconds Old Testament and I read a person’s name I used to just move on past it because okay it’s that’s his name cool 1 hour, 1 minute, 58 seconds the Bible mentions people’s names and lifespans for a reason and it’s so I took it upon myself 1 hour, 2 minutes, 7 seconds to understand these things if the Holy Spirit determined that this person is going to be in the Bible forever in his 1 hour, 2 minutes, 16 seconds

word that is settled in heaven that I need understand why and so I would do searches on an individual’s 1 hour, 2 minutes, 24 seconds name or the role that they played the things that they did um so I could have a better understanding so I think that’s 1 hour, 2 minutes, 32 seconds all part of of searching for him with all of your heart soul strength and mind and if somebody else wants to jump 1 hour, 2 minutes, 40 seconds in there and share their thoughts on it by all means yeah like I’d like to throw in just a thought with that using uh

1 hour, 2 minutes, 48 seconds Jacob he sent everybody across and he stayed behind where it was where was familiar to him he stayed in the world 1 hour, 2 minutes, 57 seconds he was sending his family everything he owned to God and then he ended up wrestling with God to find out who’s 1 hour, 3 minutes, 5 seconds really God and Jacob finds that he is not God but he also realizes who the true God is that Jehova is the living 1 hour, 3 minutes, 13 seconds creative God and and that’s that’s the walk that we all take we have to get to a point

1 hour, 3 minutes, 20 seconds where sometimes people walk with no problem and other times people you know you have a lot of B AG you have to shed 1 hour, 3 minutes, 27 seconds the baggage and then be naked with god without all of that and realize that I 1 hour, 3 minutes, 34 seconds am not God and at that point God then then open and pierce your heart and create do the restoration that takes 1 hour, 3 minutes, 42 seconds place and then you cross over uh into his plan rather than our plan MH 1 hour, 3 minutes, 52 seconds

amen I got something yes go ahead uh the uh with your whole heart we can we 1 hour, 4 minutes, 1 second westerners conflate the uh the heart with our emotions and according to the you know the what some people term the anatomy of the Bible your heart is your 1 hour, 4 minutes, 10 seconds mind your thinking your your reasoning um so to seek him with your whole heart is to dedicate your thoughts 1 hour, 4 minutes, 19 seconds to that seeking it’s it’s not about emotion thank you brother uh 1 hour, 4 minutes, 28 seconds Joyce all this make me think about um Paralis

1 hour, 4 minutes, 35 seconds parallelism with uh holding on I mean uh endure to the 1 hour, 4 minutes, 43 seconds end uh but it also also make me think being by by 1 hour, 4 minutes, 51 seconds ourself like the judgment period 1 hour, 4 minutes, 57 seconds uh as long as my breath is going keeping me 1 hour, 5 minutes, 5 seconds alive I have the chance to uh decide what is good and 1 hour, 5 minutes, 13 seconds wrong so that’s why I think about judgment so is this where Wilderness can 1 hour, 5 minutes, 21 seconds

well I mean this Wilderness make me think about some kind of 1 hour, 5 minutes, 28 seconds judgment uh and if I Endure until the end I will receive my reward my new name 1 hour, 5 minutes, 37 seconds and all that is that Mak any sense it all makes sense shabbat shalom shabbat shalom 1 hour, 5 minutes, 45 seconds brother okay so I’m unmuted good so thank you for having me um this is this 1 hour, 5 minutes, 51 seconds is awesome I’ve uh been looking uh I’ve been listen listening to a lot of your videos and uh thank you for allowing me

to come in so while you were talking about that I was thinking of two things one are there any of do you ever have notes 1 hour, 6 minutes, 8 seconds available your your uh PowerPoints are they ever available or that was one yes so again this is another issue that uh 1 hour, 6 minutes, 17 seconds David number one has brought up with me um I do make my uh keynote slides available to anybody who wants 1 hour, 6 minutes, 26 seconds but um David also suggested that I have uh notes with the scriptures that were 1 hour, 6 minutes, 34 seconds

we used in each uh slide uh available to send out so if that’s something that you want just shoot me an email and let me 1 hour, 6 minutes, 42 seconds know sure and I can okay I can get a for you yeah okay um so when you were 1 hour, 6 minutes, 48 seconds talking about how Jacob um uh lint forever it brought me to the thought of 1 hour, 6 minutes, 56 seconds um I like I like to connect the uh the old with the new the Brit with the Tanakh and try to see you know what the 1 hour, 7 minutes, 4 seconds

thought pattern is for Paul since he’s been so misunderstood for you know, 1500 1 hour, 7 minutes, 11 seconds 2,000 years um so one of the one of the scriptures came to mind that was Romans 1 hour, 7 minutes, 17 seconds 828 which is very heavily quoted throughout Christendom right and um it 1 hour, 7 minutes, 25 seconds just talks about how um how yehovah knew us before we were even 1 hour, 7 minutes, 33 seconds created um or or set here on the earth and how we have been predestined for his 1 hour, 7 minutes, 40 seconds

purpose and how um because 828 29 and 30 I even think because I had to look it up to make sure that I was on the right 1 hour, 7 minutes, 49 seconds track um and I was just I was pleased to see how um bringing that forward and 1 hour, 7 minutes, 57 seconds like applying it how even though my life has been at um just full of grace and 1 hour, 8 minutes, 8 seconds mercy right some of us could say that because we should have been dead long time ago right but um seeing that I 1 hour, 8 minutes, 16 seconds

could see now another connection between the um since you brought it up between Jacob and um Paul like Paul might have 1 hour, 8 minutes, 26 seconds been thought thinking of Jacob he might have been thinking wow you know that my ancestor was he 1 hour, 8 minutes, 34 seconds wrestled with the father you know or with the angel or how however that went right so um I just you know threw that 1 hour, 8 minutes, 44 seconds out there because I like to make connections you know old and new and stuff and I will send you an 1 hour, 8 minutes, 51 seconds

email for a slide or two Amen brother well thank you very much 1 hour, 8 minutes, 58 seconds for your thoughts uh any other thoughts or questions someone’s raising their hand 1 hour, 9 minutes, 6 seconds uh JP and Leticia hey shalom shab shalom um and I 1 hour, 9 minutes, 14 seconds just wanted to say um this was a great topic you know I believe that it it really can let me turn my camera on so I 1 hour, 9 minutes, 21 seconds can see you um it really it really touches down on that that gap between where we’re at now 1 hour, 9 minutes, 29 seconds

to some of our family members and friends um that are out there that they may look at us funny and I I love I love 1 hour, 9 minutes, 37 seconds the the way you presented and you talked about you know all that you said there so many great points um you know I 1 hour, 9 minutes, 45 seconds always reference like Ephesians chapter 2 I believe where it says you used like you were now you’re in the Commonwealth 1 hour, 9 minutes, 52 seconds of of Israel you’re you’re in the Commonwealth and now you’re a part of like a citizenship and I try to make

1 hour, 9 minutes, 59 seconds that connection it’s not always easy of course but to plant the seeds has been a blessing so a lot of what you said today 1 hour, 10 minutes, 7 seconds really um resonated with me and my walk um trying to just trying to share that 1 hour, 10 minutes, 14 seconds good news to to those that may not see in the same way and but I’ve learned a lot of patience over the time um to have 1 hour, 10 minutes, 22 seconds

from my family and friends as well and not to be so so um harsh and want them to know cuz I know that the most high he 1 hour, 10 minutes, 31 seconds gave it to us in a slow pace just like you said right now you know I know me and my wife we got it through the 1 hour, 10 minutes, 39 seconds dietary instructions and then it went to the holidays and you know it went to then it went to um learning the Sabbath 1 hour, 10 minutes, 47 seconds

so we didn’t really keep the Sabbath till years later keeping the dietary instruction so it’s amazing when I hear everybody’s testimonies in that way to 1 hour, 10 minutes, 55 seconds see their journey is not always the same and it’s just a blessing to hear I really appreciate this topic here itself 1 hour, 11 minutes, 3 seconds because it uh I I I’m going to take some of those points you brought out to try to use those and incorporate them when I shared the good news with those around 1 hour, 11 minutes, 12 seconds

us so just want to say halelujah you know for all that you put together today shab Shalom amen thank you brother thank 1 hour, 11 minutes, 21 seconds you okay well guys look at this how many we’ve got what has anyone got a count yet how many people do we have here 1 hour, 11 minutes, 30 seconds today um Jared I’ll let you share here in a moment but I think we got like 40 people that’s amazing that’s exciting and I’m very grateful for those of you 1 hour, 11 minutes, 38 seconds

who are here for the very first time and for those of you who are returning all the ways that you uh participated today 1 hour, 11 minutes, 46 seconds whether it was just watching or sharing your thoughts I’m very grateful for all 1 hour, 11 minutes, 51 seconds of you guys um if if you have a um a topic that you think would be worthy of of us just to look at and study maybe it’s something that’s your questioning in your own uh Bible study shoot me an 1 hour, 12 minutes, 7 seconds

email let me know um I don’t want to be the only idea generator here in the group um so we can we can do this thing 1 hour, 12 minutes, 17 seconds together um and then I just have a one one more or two more brief things to say but Jared before we do that did you want 1 hour, 12 minutes, 24 seconds to share something uh yes sir uh you you mentioned my logo earlier uh right here U it is a very um 1 hour, 12 minutes, 34 seconds it’s tied directly to Isaiah 11 11-2 and the two sticks U it is represented of of

1 hour, 12 minutes, 42 seconds Israel and and Judah Samaria and Jerusalem uh the bringing of the two houses back together and uh since you 1 hour, 12 minutes, 51 seconds you know you me you mentioned the logo earlier uh I just wanted to bring that up and I I don’t share my video very 1 hour, 12 minutes, 59 seconds often because uh the starting time is the equivalent of about 4 AM for me because of my schedule so um and I’m 1 hour, 13 minutes, 7 seconds just getting started in the day so anyway well amen well thank you for sharing 1 hour, 13 minutes, 15 seconds

that uh let’s see the one thing I wanted to share is this little group of us this 1 hour, 13 minutes, 22 seconds little well was a little group we we are we are doing our best to start a worship center in Lahar 1 hour, 13 minutes, 31 seconds Pakistan uh with uh brother ASF he is is’s RA trying to raise uh 1 hour, 13 minutes, 38 seconds money to build a little Center there where uh the kids can learn the Bible from a young age obviously he and his 1 hour, 13 minutes, 47 seconds

brother I believe and um they need chairs and they need benches and they need supplies and need uh money for 1 hour, 13 minutes, 56 seconds renting a facility and so we started to go fundme um more than a month ago for a 1 hour, 14 minutes, 4 seconds couple thousand bucks and uh we’re almost there so if you any of you guys want to share to that goal whether it’s 1 hour, 14 minutes, 11 seconds $5 or $10 or a $1 I don’t care um please 1 hour, 14 minutes, 16 seconds uh please do so um I have the GoFundMe on the ancient path uh Facebook page if

1 hour, 14 minutes, 27 seconds uh if you want me to send it to you directly I can do that with an email um and then once we get that goal and I think we’re gosh only5 or $600 1 hour, 14 minutes, 36 seconds away from it um we’re going to um send that money to ASF and he’s going to you 1 hour, 14 minutes, 46 seconds know give us all the receipts of everything he bought and what he bought and why he bought it and and we’re going to able to see that Center come to Life 1 hour, 14 minutes, 55 seconds

One Shabbat um with the children they being being taught he’s currently translating my lessons into um heru so 1 hour, 15 minutes, 5 seconds and he’s he’s taking all my lessons and translating them into his language to teach so having said that guys uh we are 1 hour, 15 minutes, 14 seconds three minutes past our window thank you so much for coming this video will be uh uploaded to U YouTube this evening or 1 hour, 15 minutes, 23 seconds first thing in the morning one of the two all depending on how busy YouTube is but there’s my thumbs up for the 1 hour, 15 minutes, 31 seconds

fireworks shabbat shalom everybody and um we’ll see you next time jaat Shalom 1 hour, 15 minutes, 40 seconds everyone bye bye shalom shalom shalom shalom

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • The Teaching distinguishes biblical Israel from ethnic conversion or citizenship in the modern State of Israel.
  • It teaches that faith in Yeshua joins a believer to the covenant people of God and the Commonwealth of Israel.
  • Jacob’s Genesis 32 experience is the central pattern: alone, wrestling, blessed, renamed, injured, and then crossing over.
  • A season of isolation is presented as an opportunity to examine Scripture without simply inheriting the convictions of a group.
  • The listener is encouraged to test traditions and doctrines against Scripture and to keep seeking until understanding becomes personal conviction.
  • The Teaching does not portray the process as painless; it explicitly discusses lost fellowship, strained relationships, and the lasting “limp” that can accompany change.
  • The wilderness motif is used to describe Yahovah dealing with His people face to face and bringing them into the bond of covenant.
  • The concluding encouragement is to resist returning to a system merely to end loneliness, and instead to use the season to seek Yahovah, learn, and grow.
