Jacob to Jesus

ABOUT THIS TEACHING

Jacob to Jesus traces the Teaching’s account of covenant history from Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, and Ephraim through the division of Israel into the House of Israel and the House of Judah, the scattering of the northern house, and the work of Yeshua at the cross. The Teaching argues that many New Testament expressions—lost sheep, those far off, the elect, the one new man, and the olive tree—are best understood against this two-house history. Its central argument is that the divorced House of Israel faced a legal barrier to returning to her first Husband; the Teaching reads Deuteronomy 24 together with Romans 7 to explain the Husband’s death as the means by which that barrier is removed, followed by resurrection and reconciliation in Messiah. It then connects this restoration to the New Covenant, the gathering of the scattered, and the inclusion of those who belong to Christ as Abraham’s offspring.

KEY SCRIPTURES

  • Genesis 22:17; Genesis 32:28; Genesis 35:10–11; Genesis 48:19 — Promises to Abraham, Jacob, and Ephraim form the Teaching’s foundation for a people extending into a multitude of nations.
  • Exodus 19:5–6; Exodus 24:3, 8 — Israel is identified as Yahovah’s treasured possession, kingdom of priests, and holy nation; Sinai is presented as a covenant/marriage relationship.
  • Deuteronomy 28; Deuteronomy 30:1–6 — Blessing, curse, scattering, return, and circumcision of the heart frame Israel’s covenant history.
  • 1 Kings 11:31; Jeremiah 3:8; Hosea 1:6, 9–10; Hosea 13:1–2 — The Teaching traces the divided kingdom, the divorce of the House of Israel, loss of covenant identity, and promised restoration.
  • Deuteronomy 24:1–4; Romans 7:2–4 — These passages are joined in the Teaching’s central legal argument concerning divorce, remarriage, and the death of the Husband.
  • John 10:11, 16; Matthew 10:5–6; Matthew 15:24 — Yeshua is presented as the Good Shepherd who seeks the lost sheep of the House of Israel and brings the flocks together.
  • Ephesians 2:11–16; Isaiah 11:12–13 — The Teaching connects Messiah’s blood and the ‘one new man’ with reconciliation between those far off and near and the ending of hostility between Ephraim and Judah.
  • Jeremiah 31:31–33; John 11:51–52 — The New Covenant is made with the House of Israel and House of Judah; Yeshua’s death is connected with gathering the scattered children of God into one.
  • Galatians 3:28–29; Romans 9:23–26; Romans 11:25–33 — The Teaching connects belonging to Messiah with Abraham’s offspring and reads Paul’s discussion of Gentiles, Hosea, and the fullness of the Gentiles through the restoration of Israel.

TEACHING TRANSCRIPT

Chapter 1: Introduction

Jacob to Jesus the history of uh reconciliation

um most of what you’re about to study today is considered to be doctorate level

instruction in Biblical history most believers do not know or understand

the relationship between Jehovah and Israel or how that historical relationship

culminates at the cross sadly most western pastors do not understand it either

Chapter 2: Two Dominant Themes

there are two dominant themes threaded throughout the Old Testament and into the new I think the first one most people will

understand most people will agree that the coming of the Messiah is by far the most dominant theme throughout

scriptures the coming of and the arrival of the Messiah the second most dominant theme threaded

throughout the scriptures is the story of the two houses of Israel thank you

now some of you who’ve never heard this before or studied this before might not even understand or know

the term or the phrase House of Israel but in this lesson you’re going to find out that there’s a difference between

Israel overall and the house of Israel together they explain the mystery of salvation

for Israel and the world understanding these two themes alone

is the key to understanding your entire Bible and I think as we go through this and

start looking at scriptures if you’re like most people who have seen this lights are going to start turning

on you’re going to start having some aha moments as it pertains to your understanding especially of the Old

Testament but even more so how the Old Testament scriptures that you’re going to be reading today are going to be shedding

light on your new testament understanding so in this lesson we’re going to

Chapter 3: The Answer

discover the answer to who is who who is who are these people who are the elect

who are The Chosen who are the Sheep who are the called the one new man the holy

nation the royal priesthood the treasured possession and the bride a lot of Western Christians would answer

that question as to themselves that Christians are are the is the answer to all these questions

we’re going to see if that holds up to scripture and Acts 3 is Peter is teaching he says

for Moses truly said to the fathers the Lord your God will rise up through the prophet like me from your brethren him

you shall hear in all things whatever he says to you and it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among

the people yes and all the prophets every one of them from Samuel

and those who follow as many as have spoken have also foretold these days

your sons of the prophets of the Covenant which God made with your father saying to Abraham and in your seed all the families of the Earth shall be

blessed I put this scripture here because everything that we are going to see and understand in this lesson

has always been there for us to read but like I’ve said many times

Christianity is Old Testament illiterate and because they are Old Testament illiterate they don’t understand what’s

happening in their own New Testaments but the Bible clearly says every Prophet

has spoken of the things that we’re going to read about today

Chapter 4: What We Will Learn

this study is about who was who in the Bible and why that matters we’re going to understand a little bit

more about Abraham and Jacob and Joseph and Ephraim that may be a name that you

guys have read in your Bible but never understood who he was or what he was we’re going to learn about the 12 tribes

of Israel the house of Israel the house of Judah and how they’re different then we’re going to understand a little

bit more about the origin of the Hebrews the origin of Israel the origin of the Jews the Lost tribes of Israel

5 minutes

the origin of the Gospel and why Jesus had to die

we’re going to start here with old Abraham who’s the father of the Hebrews and of the faith

Chapter 5: Abraham

even our faith many people don’t know that Abraham was indeed a gentile

called from the Chaldeans in Genesis 11 31 Tara took Abraham his son and the lot

and the lot the son of Heron his grandson and Sarah his daughter-in-law is son Abram’s wife and they went forth

together from Ur of the Chaldeans to go into the land of Canaan

so the Chaldeans were a polytheistic Pagan for all intents and purposes for our understanding

gentile people that God called Abraham out of

to go into the land of Canaan and in Genesis Chapter 14 verse 13 we

see the very first time the word Hebrew is used to describe Abraham

then one who had escaped came and told Abram the Hebrew so this word Hebrew

is used to distinguish Israel from foreigners one who is from Beyond that being the

other side of the Euphrates River and um

the crossed over ones is basically the origin of that term of of the Hebrew the

ones who have crossed over and we see this through over and over and over again through scripture about this whole idea of crossing over this actually is

very a very important um tenet in the lesson on baptism

here in John 5 it says most assuredly I said to you he who hears my word and believes in him who sent me as everlasting life

and shall not come into judgment but has passed from Death to life and that word past means crossed over

so we have this theme starting with with Abraham becoming known as the one who crossed

over that being the refrades river that continues throughout scripture

those who go from Death To Life from sin to Salvation are those who have

crossed over from death into life and then we see this prophecy about

Abraham in Genesis chapter 2 verse 17. I will surely bless you and I will surely

multiply your Offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sand

that is on the seashore so as far back as Abraham we can see

that God is in within Abraham’s prophecy the prophecies about him

is unveiling or revealing his plan for the world

here we are in 2023 and nobody would dare say that the Jewish population

is greater than or equal to the stars of heaven or the sand that is

on the seashore that’s actually not the case when you do an actual head count around the world of the

number of of Jews in the world it’s it’s a minuscule fraction of the global population

so this can’t be talking about the Jewish people God is talking about the world he’s

talking about how he’s going to use Abraham and his descendants to reach the

world and we see that this prophecy to Abraham was irrevocable it was unconditional and

it was a unilateral promise not subject to change or to disappear in any way shape or form Paul talks about that in

Romans 11 28 and this is going to become more prevalent as we move along here in this study

Chapter 6: Jacob

then we take a brief look at Jacob when he received the name when he goes

from the name Jacob to Israel Genesis 32.

the same night he arose and took his two wives his two female servants his 11 children and crossed the fort of zabach

he took them and sent them across the stream and everything else that he had and Jacob was left alone and a man wrestled with him until the

breaking of the day when the man saw that he did not Prevail against Jacob he touched his hip socket

and Jacob’s hip was put out of joint as he wrestled with him then he said let me go for the day has broken

but Jacob said I will not let you go unless you bless me and he said to him what is your name and

he said Jacob then he said your name shall no longer be called Jacob but Israel

for you have striven with God and with man and have prevailed by the way the meaning of the name Israel is right

there in that in that phrase it is striving with God

so Jacob goes from becoming for being known as The Deceiver because if you recall he deceived his brother for the

11 minutes

birthright to being one who strives with God and let’s look at the prophecy receipt

regarding Jacob and see if we can start to see a commonality in these prophecies

in Genesis 35 verses 10 through 11. the Bible says and God said to him your name is Jacob no longer shall your name be

called Jacob but Israel shall be your name so he called his name Israel and God said to him I am God Almighty be

fruitful and multiply a nation and a company of Nations shall come from you

and Kings shall come from your own body so here we see in the prophecy given to

Jacob that there’s something appears to go beyond just Israel just his people

because he said a nation and a company of Nations shall come from you

Chapter 7: Who

so let’s understand a little bit more about who is who here we’re going to start with Abraham the father of the

faith and of course his son was Isaac and of course his son was Jacob who we just finished reading a little bit about

Jacob then of course has 12 sons and his name is now Israel

and the moniker of Israel was passed down from Jacob to Joseph

why not the oldest son who was the oldest son anybody know who the oldest son was

it was Reuben I think you’re all muted so yeah Reuben and then Simeon

why why were why didn’t they receive the blessing and become known as Israel so to speak

well because they were in sin they had their individual sins that she can read about on your own time but basically the

moniker of Israel was passed down from Jacob to Joseph

and then if you remember Joseph had his two sons Manasseh and Ephraim or Ephraim I said

that word fast who was the oldest the oldest was Manasseh so the birthright should have

gone to him but again if you recall Jacob crossed his arms at the blessing and put his right hand

on Ephraim in his left hand on Manasseh if you recall Joseph was like no no father

you got this wrong but no he didn’t have that wrong he blessed Ephraim and not Manasseh

so the moniker if you will of Israel was passed from Jacob to Joseph

to Ephraim now it’s important to know going forward that throughout the Bible

Israel goes by several names you can identify Israel when you read

about Jacob when you read about Joseph when you read about Ephraim or the 12 tribes

but there’s also this thing called the house of Israel which is a little bit different

and when I told you that this study is going to help you understand your Bible it’s it’s first and foremost

by understanding who is who understanding who the Bible is referencing and what God is saying about

these individuals and really who they are we can’t leave without looking at the prophecy regarding the frying

in Genesis 48 it says nevertheless his younger brother Ephraim shall be greater than he

Manasseh and his offspring shall what they shall become a multitude of Nations

now the word for multitude in the Hebrew means fullness and the word for nations in Hebrew is

goheim or gentiles and that phrase a multitude of Nations or the fullness of the Gentiles

is going to come back up to us later on the lesson so it’s important that you kind of hang on to some of the things

that you’re seeing here early in the lesson because it’s all going to become very clear at the end of the lesson

Chapter 8: Similarities

notice the similarities in the three prophecies that we just looked at in Genesis 22 regarding Abraham

he said not just he will be blessed but the but he’ll multiply his offspring which we already discussed was not just Israel

but the world the blessing or the prophecy regarding Jacob was very similar a nation in a

company of Nations shall come from you a nation being that of Israel and a company of Nations being that of

the world and in ephraim’s uh prophecy we see the

very same thing shall become a multitude of Nations or a fullness of gentiles

so here even as far back as Abraham we can see God’s plan for reaching the world

in this lineage from Abraham all the way to Ephraim

Chapter 9: The Land of Goshen

taking a closer look at Jacob we know that he and his twelve Sons 70

people in all settled in Egypt the Bible says in Genesis 47 that they

were given the land of Goshen to live in that’s an important point to make because in all of Egypt Goshen was

considered to be the best of the land as it says in verses 11 through 12 so God was already blessing his people

even while they were in Egypt he was blessing their people they were there for 430 years

and then of course you know the journey so they started in Canaan moved to Egypt to the land of gocha

Chapter 10: The Journey

Goshen 430 years 70 people turned into nearly 1.6 million people at the Exodus

and of course they made the journey from Egypt back to Canaan or back to the promised land the little arrow there at

18 minutes

the top over that orange line indicates kind of where they crossed the Jordan River into the Canaan the mount

the line of Canaan and then here we see in Exodus 19 we start to see some of the words

that I brought up in an earlier slide about who is who we see here in Exodus 19 you have seen

what I did to the Egyptians and how I bore on eagles wings and brought you to myself now therefore if you will indeed obey my voice and

keep my Covenant then you shall be a special possession to me above all people for all the Earth is mine and ye shall

be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation these are the words which you shall

speak of the children of Israel so right here in Exodus 19 we can answer the question

who is the special possession well it’s Israel who is the kingdom of priests well it’s Israel

who is the holy nation it’s Israel so so far three of these people that

we’ve been able to identify are all Israel all the nation of Israel

then we get to Mount Sinai where God marries his bride or marries

Israel the exchange of vows here at Mount Sinai in Exodus 24 verse 3 all the

people answered with one voice and said all the words that the Lord has spoken we will do that was kind of like their

version of saying I do in in a marriage relationship when he took the book of the Covenant

that was that was most likely a an ancient version of what is now called

20 minutes

the katuba a katuba is basically a marriage contract like the one he’s seen the image to the to your right

and in this marriage contract you have the responsibilities of the husband on

one side and you have the responsibilities of the Bride on the other side and they both make their marks on it

it’s a commitment it’s a contract so he took the book of the Covenant explaining

these responsibilities and read it in the hearing of the people and they said all that the Lord has

spoken we will do and we will be obedient and Moses took the blood and sprinkled

it on all the people and said behold the blood of the Covenant that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all

these words many people don’t realize that the old Covenant was ratified by

Blood just like the New Covenant was ratified by Blood but here we see that is exactly a case

so this Covenant was Bound by Blood based on his word and theirs based on

the words of the book of the Covenant is what this Covenant was based on in

other words God says I will be your God and I will bless you and you will be my

people and you will obey me that’s basically the most rudimentary version of this Covenant that I can say that I

can utter it was based on his promise and their promise to obey

and at the end of the day a covenant is nothing more than an agreement a treaty an accord or contract

that’s important to understand because a lot of people equate the old Covenant with God’s holy laws

and they are totally different they are totally separate the old Covenant was basically a contract

the laws that God gave his people were the vows to look at it as simply as we can

that’s why in Hebrews chapter 8 we see that as it is Christ has obtained a Ministry that is much more excellent

than the old as the Covenant he mediates that being the New Covenant is better

now why is it better it’s enacted on better promises okay let’s stop there

what were the promises of the old Covenant but God would bless his people and be their God and they would obey him

okay we all know because we have because you know looking back is 20 20 Vision looking back at the past

we can see that they failed in their promise they failed in their vows

so Christ’s Covenant is a new and better Covenant because it’s enacted on better

promises for if that first Covenant had been faultless okay let’s stop there a lot of people want to say the old

Covenant was faulty and they don’t understand what they’re saying

because the old Covenant was not faulty the Bible says that if the first Covenant had been faultless there would

have been no occasion to look for a second for he finds fault with them when he says and he goes on to quote Jeremiah 31.

so what was faulty about the old Covenant it wasn’t the Covenant itself

it was with them with their ability to be obedient and to be faithful

that’s why the New Covenant is so much better because the first Covenant was based on

the promise of man’s ability to obey the second Covenant was based on the promise of God

to save by his own blood and that’s a Monumental difference

which ties in our faith in Christ Our righteousness being our faith in Christ

and his ability to save us in spite of our sin

as long as we maintain a heart of repentance a circumcised heart before him

Chapter 11: The Relationship Between Jehovah and Israel

a few more passages about the relationship between Jehovah and Israel it’s important to understand this because believe it or not there are

people out there who want to say that God never married Israel but we see that’s actually not the case

he actually did marry Israel Exodus 19 5 now therefore if that’s a condition you

will indeed obey my voice and keep my Covenant you shall be my treasured possession there’s that word again among all peoples

for all the Earth is mine and he shall be to me a kingdom of praise and a holy nation Jeremiah 31 says behold the days are

coming declares the Lord when I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel in the house of Judah not like a covenant but I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand and bring

them out of the land of Egypt my Covenant that they broke though I was there what

their husband declares the Lord Isaiah 54 for your maker is your husband

the Lord of hosts is his name and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer a god of the whole earth he is called

Ezekiel 16 8. when I passed by you again and saw you behold you were at the age of for love and I spread the corner of

my garment over you and covered your nakedness I made my vow to you and entered into a

contract a covenant with you declares the Lord and you became

mine this whole imagery mentioned in Ezekiel 16 8.

is a very classic imagery regarding the husband and the wife

um it’s something that you see in the story of Ruth

so this whole idea of God finding Israel when she was at the age for love

and covered her making his vow to her pledging to her entering into a covenant

with her and becoming her husband so now we fast forward a little bit to

the Jordan River if you recall from your own Bible studies that here in Deuteronomy late

Chapter 12: The Jordan River

Deuteronomy this is the people getting ready to cross the Jordan River this this first generation of Israel had

died this is the next generation of Israel that came out of the desert

and God reminds them here at the shores if you will of the Jordan River

that if they Faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God then they are going to be blessed

blessed blessed blessed blessings shall come upon you and overtake you

what you keep saying in the yellow there the condition if you Faithfully obey

bless bless blessed now the opposite is also true if you will not obey

been cursed cursed cursed you shall be cursed shall come upon you and overtake

you so here at the Jordan River he reminds them of the same

vows they took at Mount Sinai is going to be true

as they enter into the land of Canaan Faithfully obey and you’ll be blessed

not obey and you’re going to be cursed but in addition to the curses

there was something else that they were warned of

Chapter 13: The Scattering

if they were going to be disobedient God says I am going to scatter you

now the scattering or this the dispersion is known as the diaspora that

may be a word that you have heard from time to time um in a lesson or in in your reading of commentaries

the scattering is the diaspora it is the dispersion of God’s people as a result of their

disobedience Deuteronomy 28 the Lord will scatter you among all peoples from one end of the

Earth to the other and there you Shall Serve other gods Nehemiah verse chapter 1 verse 8.

I will scatter you among the Nations if you are unfaithful Leviticus 26

30 minutes

if you walk contrary to me I will scatter you among the Nations Ezekiel 12.

I will disperse them among the Nations and scatter them among the countries Deuteronomy 4.

and the Lord will scatter you among the Nations and you will be left few in number among the Nations where the Lord

will drive you keep that in mind keep us scattering in

Chapter 14: The Kings

mind as we jump forward here to the time of the Kings Israel’s Rebellion continued

even up until the time where they demanded a king and of course we know that Saul was that first king

it’s important to know that all 12 tribes of Israel were only governed under these three kings and these Kings

only now how many kings did Israel have over the years dozens

but only under these three kings were all the twelves of Israel governed at one time

and we see here in First Kings chapter 11 that because of Solomon and his disobedience

therefore the Lord said to Solomon since this has been your practice and you have not kept my Covenant and my statutes that I have commanded you

I will surely tear the Kingdom from you and give it to your servant now who was

his servant his servant was jeroboam and in First Kings 11 31 it says and he

said to jeroboam take for yourself ten pieces 10 pieces of what 10 pieces of

the 12 tribes of Israel thus says the Lord behold I am about to tear the Kingdom

from the hand of Solomon and give you ten tribes so here in history because of

Israel’s continued Rebellion God divided the 12 tribes into two factions

he gave jeroboam 10 of those tribes

and under jeroboam’s leadership he would take Israel down her darkest path

so bad was jeroboam’s leadership of the ten tribes that he was now responsible for he became the one king

that every King afterwards would be measured against in his treachery

okay so here we are in history with God dividing the 12 tribes into two houses

Chapter 15: The Houses

so to speak the kingdom was split into the ten Northern tribes become known as

the house of Israel also known as the house of Jacob the

house of Joseph in the house of Ephraim the two Southern tribes become the house

of Judah from which we get the term Jew now we’re going to explore that a little

bit more a little bit later but it’s important to understand this isn’t just a matter of semantics this is going to help you understand

your Bible so the house of Israel does not repent

and God divorced her in 722 BC and cast her into Assyria

Jeremiah 3 the Lord said to me in the days of King Josiah have you seen what she did that faithless won Israel how

she went up on every High Hill under every Green Tree and by the way high hill and green tree is always a

reference to a pagan altar and there she played the

and I thought after she had done all this she would return to me but she did not return and her treacherous sister Judah the

house of Judah saw it she saw that for all the adulteries of that faithless one Israel

I had sent her away with a decree of divorce

yet her treacherous sister did not fear but she too went and played the

so neither of the houses is doing very well right here in history and God actually

35 minutes

divorced the house of Israel Judah does not repent and she is

destroyed in 586 BC we read in second chronicles 36

therefore he brought up against them the king of the Chaldeans which I think is very interesting because where did

Abraham come from the Chaldeans so God used the people

that Abraham came from to destroy the house of Judah verse 18.

all the vessels of the house of God great and small and the Treasures of the house of the Lord and the Treasures of the king and of his princes all these he

brought to Babylon and they burned the house of God and broke down the walls of Jerusalem and burned all its palaces with fire and

destroyed all its precious vessels he took into Exile in Babylon those who would escape from The Sword so many of

them died in that Siege and those who were left over who who survived were

taken into Exile into Babylon where they became servants to him and to his sons until the established the establishment

of the kingdom of Persia to fulfill the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah until the land had enjoyed its sabbaths and all the days that it laid

desolate it kept Sabbath to fulfill 70 years okay so what’s happening here Judah

had forgotten the Sabbath specifically in their case it was the

land Sabbath that they had forgotten they were no longer observing it and they had forgotten for 70 years

so God allows the Chaldeans to destroy Jerusalem and sends

Judah into Babylon for how long for 70 years

he sent them into Babylon for every year that they rejected the Sabbath so they were there for 70 years and then

they were allowed to return at the end of that seven year period to Jerusalem

now if you recall from reading your Bibles the story of Nehemiah or Nehemiah that whole book is the period that

describes them coming back into Jerusalem and rebuilding the walls

Chapter 16: Nehemiah

so the house of Israel is scattered into the Nations and she never returns

the prophet Hosea in chapter 9 says my God will reject them because they have not listened to him and they

shall be Wanderers among the Nations or Wanderers among the Gentiles

seventy years after Judah is cast into Babylon she returns Nehemiah 1 the words of Nehemiah the son

of hakalya now it happened in the month of chislav in the 20th year as I was in Susa The Citadel that had I

one of my brothers came with certain men from Judah and I asked them concerning the Jews who had escaped

who would survive the Exile and concerning Jerusalem and they said to me the remnant there in the province who had survived the

Exiles in great trouble and shame the wall of Jerusalem was broken down and its gates are destroyed by fire and by

the way we see in this little section of scripture a very common word that

most Ico seers will recognize and the word is remnant

and just as a side note this is not part of my regular lesson what we have come to understand as the

remnant is not the remnant as as with most cases Christianity has

borrowed certain words from the Bible and attributed to themselves without understanding the true historical

meaning of such words and here is no difference there’s no different here

so it’s important to understand that if Judah never returned let’s just say at the end of that 70 years she

stayed out there there would be no Jews today as we know them

not all Hebrews are Jews now this again may sound like

semantics are but it’s it’s not it’s like saying I’m a Texan

all Texans are Americans but not all Americans are Texans

and I think we understand that thinking that’s what’s going on here

Israel has been scattered into the Nations she has been divorced and she is not returned

the only ones left are the people of Judah from which we get the word Jew from

and if they had not returned to Jerusalem there would be no Jews

so it’s important that we understand that okay

Chapter 17: House of Judah

we’re gonna go back to this diagram here real fast to see if we can see if we’re paying attention here the

house of Judah is comprised of the two tribes of Benjamin and Judah

and the house of Israel is comprised of the

remaining ten tribes the house of Judah is what became known as the Jews

and the house of Israel you’ll see became known as gentiles

now that might strike you is strange and it did to me as well but you have to stop and think about it for a moment

he divorced them and cast them out into the world and if you’re not part of Israel then you are Gentile

and so you’re going to see that the house of Israel will become known as even in places in

the New Testament as Gentiles the myth is that Israel is the only uh

Chapter 18: The Myth of Israel

is only the Jewish people the origin of the word Jew after the splitting of the United Kingdom of Israel in Judah the name yehudi was

named was used for the southern Kingdom of Judah it thus ultimately originates in the Biblical Hebrew word yahudi

meaning from the tribe of Judah from the kingdom of Judah or Jew

Chapter 19: The Jordan

let’s take a glance back at the Jordan because this fall that we’ve all been reading about was foretold we have to remember the blessings and

the curses Deuteronomy 30. when all these things come upon you the blessing and the curse which I have set before you and you call

them to mind among all the nations with the Lord your God has driven you and return to the Lord your God

you and your children and obey his voice and all that I command you today with all of your heart with all of your soul then

the Lord your God will restore your fortunes and have mercy on you and he will gather you again from all the

peoples with the Lord your God has scattered you if you’re outcasts are in the uttermost

parts of Heaven from there the Lord your God will gather you and from there he will take you and the Lord your God will bring you

into the land that your father’s possessed that you may possess it and he will make you more prosperous and numerous than your fathers and the Lord

your God will circumcise your heart remember that phrase and the hearts of your Offspring so that

you will love the Lord your God with all of your hearts all of your soul with all of your mind there was a condition the condition here God says when these

things happen to you because they were prophesied that they would if you return with all of your heart if

you return to the Lord your God with all of your heart then all these things will come back

all these blessings will come back this coming back this returning of the House of Israel

has not happened yet they have still not come back in full

some have come back and trickled back we’ll look at that a little bit later on but by and large

this prophecy this promise that God says it’s return with all of your heart and then I will bless you and restore

all these things that hasn’t happened yet the house of Israel was cast into the

Chapter 20: House of Israel

Gentiles and became Gentiles early on the house of Israel knew their

identity the entire time even after they were cast into the Nations but in their life they were indistinguishable in the word indeed

from the Gentiles so here’s a people who have been divorced by their husband cast into the Nations they knew who they

were but by their lifestyle they were no different than the Gentiles how bad did it get for the house of

Israel well we see in Hosea 13 that when Ephraim spoke who’s Ephraim remember that’s a reference

to Israel the house of Israel when Ephraim spoke there was trembling he was exalted in Israel

but he incurred guilt through Baal and died what’s the guilt through by all mean that means they were worshiping by

all and now they sin more and more and make for themselves metal images Idols skillfully made of their silver

and all of them the work of Craftsmen it is said of them the house of Israel

those who offer Human Sacrifice kiss the calves so how bad did it get for the house of

Israel who was divorced and cast into the Nations they were offering their children to moloch

their infant children to moloch for human sacrifices and I think I’ve shown you in lessons

past the image of the great statue of moloch who had his hands held out with his palms turned Skyward

and the Palms were made of bronze and they had a great fire underneath these hands that would turn these hands

into molten hot hands and the sacrifice would mean that they would

give their children over to be laid into those hands and burned to death the the statue was covered was encircled

by drummers who were constantly dropping drumming in order to to hide the sound of the screaming

infants as they were being sacrificed this is how bad it got for the house of Israel

when they were cast into the Nations so cephas who was a second century historian

States as a fact that the 10 tribes are beyond the Euphrates until now they are an immense multitude and not to

be estimated in numbers in other words they were in the Millions and by the time of Yeshua

Jerusalem was only comprised of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin with few exceptions

there were a few people within the house of Israel who kept their circumcised heart one of

them being Anna you hear about Anna the prophetess in Luke 3 right she was from

the tribe of Asher but from for the most part in the days of Yeshua only Judah existed

in the land why because the house of Israel the other ten tribes had been cast into the

Nations okay I had some very important for us to understand that and over the last two thousand years the

house of Israel the ten tribes would completely lose their identity as the house of Israel

totally fulfilling the prophecy so you’ve heard the term the Lost ten

tribes of Israel maybe you knew what it was maybe you didn’t this is what it’s referencing

the the quote unquote lost tribes of Israel are those who were divorced by God and sent into the Nations becoming

Gentiles embracing Gentile ways basically becoming

Gentile in every way possible so divorced Israel are now considered

Chapter 21: The Lost Sheep

the scattered sheep Divorced with no hope of redemption yet

God yeovah promises to get them back and I’m going to explain to you the problem here

because they were divorced with no hope of redemption and I’m going to tell you why here in a moment but even though they had no hope of

redemption God was still promising to somehow get them back Jeremiah 50 my people have been lost

sheep their Shepherds have led them astray turning them away on the mountains from

50 minutes

Mountain Hill from Mountain to Hill they have gone they have forgotten their fold Micah 2

I will surely assemble All of You O Jacob who is Jacob a reference to the house of Israel

I will gather the remnant of Israel I will set them together like sheep in a fold like a flock in his pasture a noisy

multitude of men a noisy multitude of men that sounds familiar when one of our earlier

prophecies Ezekiel 34 for thus says the Lord God behold I I myself will search for my

sheep and will seek them out as a Shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered

so I will seek out my sheep and I will rescue them from all the places where they have been scattered all these words

should be ringing bells in your mind on a day of clouds and thick darkness and I will bring them out from the peoples the

Nations and gather them from the countries and will bring them into their own land

so here we see a prophecy from as far back as Ezekiel saying that though they were divorced though they are in the

Nations they are my sheep and I am somehow going to gather them from the countries but we

can’t go any further with addressing the question who is the Sheep well the answer is simple

Israel over and over and over again throughout scripture when you see the word sheep it

is always a reference to the people of Israel where are they now

well Amos says they’re still among the Nations the Gentiles Ezekiel says

they have been removed far off among the Nations they have been scattered along the countries

Psalm 106 David says save us O Lord Our God and gather us from where among the

Nations Isaiah 7 Ephraim is he frying that’s the house of Israel

the house of Israel mixes himself with the Nations with the Gentiles

Isaiah 8. Israel is swallowed up already they are among the Nations as a useless

vessel now let’s try to understand some of our new

Chapter 22: New Testament

testament you’re going to see the scriptures that I share here momentarily in a new light

now that you understand who the Sheep are John chapter 10 verse 11.

I am the Good Shepherd the Good Shepherd lays down his life for

the Sheep

[Music]

if the Sheep are Israel and only Israel

and what in the world does this mean or 16.

I have other sheep that are not of this fold I must bring them also so they will

listen to my voice so there will be one flock and one Shepherd

remember where Yeshua is at when he spoke these words he’s in Jerusalem

and who are the only people in Jerusalem at this time in history

only the house of Judah only the Jews and he says I have other sheep that are

not of this fold what’s he referring to he’s referring to the ten tribes

who have been cast out into the Nations but he has to bring them also so they’ll

be one flock instead of two right now we have two one flock in Jerusalem which is the

house of Judah and one flock in the Nations which is the house of Israel and he wants to bring them together so there

will be one flock and one Shepherd Matthew 10. Jesus was sending out the

twelve to evangelize and what did he say to them these 12 Jesus sent out instructed them

go nowhere among the Gentiles this would be a reference to the Pagan Gentiles and I’ll tell you why in a second you’ll see

it here in this verse go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans but

go rather to the lost sheep of the House of Israel

so when Jesus is sending out the twelve he’s saying don’t go to the world or to the Pagan

Gentiles don’t go to Samara go to the lost sheep find them find the

people that were cast out and divorced now when did this happen this happened

in 722 BC so they have been in the Wind for 700 years

when Yeshua comes up or comes on a scene he’s telling his

guys to go evangelize those lost sheep John 7.

the Jews said to one another where does this man intend to go that we will not find him does he intend to go to the what

dispersion what’s the dispersion the scattering what was that happened at the scattering God divorced divorce the

12 the 10 tribes and sent them into the Nations does he intend to go to the dispersion Among The Who

the Gentiles and teach the Gentiles so here even in John 7 these Jews

were calling their Hebrew Brothers gentiles

they were the only ones in dispersion they were the only ones in the scattering and so in the mind of the Contemporary

Jew of that day those people were gentiles and we’re going to see why

they thought that here in a moment so Jesus again said to them truly truly

I say to you I am the door of the Sheep now this is important

these lost sheep they can come back but the only way they come back is through Jesus

and we know or you know from understanding our own communities

that there are thousands of Jewish people that live around us and Among Us and most of them

many of them are atheistic in their approach those who aren’t atheistic and hold to some form of

Judaism still reject Jesus as the Messiah

Jesus is saying here that these sheep these ones that are sending you out to

evangelize they have to come through me on the door so they’re going to have to acknowledge

Yeshua as the Messiah before they return and then Matthew 15 verse 24.

Jesus answered he answered I was sent only

to the lost sheep of the House of Israel now that last verse

messes with our doctrines a little bit doesn’t it when you ask the average Christian why

did Jesus come oh he came to save the world from their sin or he came to save me from my sin

and yet the Bible tells us that he was sent only only

to the lost sheep of the House of Israel normally we would have some discussion

on this matter and if you feel like you want to share something do but this is a huge deal this is a verse

that gets glossed over in just about every sermon you hear it in because it just doesn’t make sense

and most people don’t know how to explain this because they don’t understand the

relationship between yehovah and the people of Israel the house of Israel in the house of Judah

how can the Bible say he was sent only for the lost sheep of the House of Israel doesn’t make sense

Angela raises her hand Angela did you want to say something yeah I just had a question on

Matthew it says go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans but

1 hour

go rather to the lost sheep so how in that scripture can you equate the lost sheep with Gentiles because to me that

reads two completely separate groups of people because of John 7.

if you look over to your top right hand of your screen these Jews were already equating the lost sheep with gentiles

because they are the only ones in dispersion and they were calling them gentiles and so it’s an assumption on my part for

sure to be certain but it’s a safe assumption because we have reference to these lost sheep being

called gentiles elsewhere in scripture John 7 being one of them

now in Matthew 10 I don’t think he’s talking to when he says go nowhere among the Gentiles I don’t think he’s talking about

1 hour, 1 minute

uh the lost sheep I think he’s talking about actual Pagan gentiles and why do I think that well because he

goes he says instead go rather to the lost sheep of House of this now the interesting thing in part that about that is they’re both considered Gentiles

a pagan Gentile and a human Hebrew Gentile are both gentiles

if you have been divorced and cast out Hosea we’re going to learn here in a moment

Hosea says that they were no longer God’s people and he was no longer their God what’s another way of saying that they

were Gentiles so in Matthew 10 he’s saying don’t go nowhere among the Pagan gentiles

go rathers the lost sheep of House of his even though they were called Gentiles themselves and we learned that from places like John 7 and elsewhere which we’re going

to get into so does that help you understand a little bit more yep okay

okay so Jesus was sent only to the lost sheep of the House of Israel let’s try to figure that out and make sense there

Jewish Gentiles what how does that work how do we have Jewish Gentiles or in our understanding of the

word Jewish because for most people in the world Jewish and Hebrew or synonymous they’re

one of the same you know they’re there’s no difference and yet the Bible makes a distinction

and Romans dying Paul says even us and who’s the US he’s talking about

well he’s part of the tribe of Benjamin Paul is and only Benjamin and Judah are

in Jerusalem so when he says even us he’s talking about the house of Judah whom he is called

not from the Jews only that’s them but also from the Gentiles

as indeed he says in Hosea now this word Gentile in Romans 9 is a reference to the house of Israel

how do I know that because he goes on to say as indeed he says in Hosea those who were not my people I will call

my people and her who was not beloved I will call beloved and in the very place where it was said to them you are not my people

they will be called the Sons of the Living God so here in Hosea 1 that Paul is referencing

here is a direct connection to the house of Israel it was the house of Israel who were no

longer God’s people and he was no longer their God that’s how I know that this

word Gentile being referenced to in Romans 9 is a reference to the very

same people okay we continue first Peter 2

you are a chosen race a royal priesthood a holy nation a people for his own possession we see all those words again

popping up that you will proclaim the excellences excellencies of him who called you out of Darkness Into His

Marvelous Light once you were not a people but now you are God’s people because of

the cross once you had not received Mercy but now you have received Mercy that passage may

seem very familiar to us Church of christers because we use it in our light and dark study

but Peter uses this phrase not a people

not receive mercy and where have we seen that before we’ve seen that in Hosea 1.

so here again is a reference to the house of Israel in fact the entire letter Peter’s

letters were written to the house of Israel and we know that I think it’s in this slide

I’ll get to it here in a second well Jose 1 chapter 6 says she conceived again aboard daughter and the Lord

called to him call her name no mercy for I will no more have mercy on who on the house of Israel to forgive them

at all but I will have mercy on the house of Judah and I will save them by the Lord their God I will not save them by bow or by sword or by war or by

horses or by Horsemen when she had weaned no mercy great aim for a kid she conceived and bore a son and the Lord

said call his name not my people for you were not my people and I am not your God which is another way of saying

Gentile and these are the very same people that Paul is referencing in Romans 9.

so it’s important that we understand this so we can understand what the Bible is actually saying

Ephesians 2 Paul says he came and preached peace to you who were far off

and peace to those who were near another famous passage used by Hosea and

in Daniel in Daniel 9 it says To You O Lord belong with righteousness but to US Open shame as at this day to the men of Judah to

the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to all who Israel those who are near and those who are far away in all the lands to

which you have driven them because of the treachery that they have committed against you so here we see the same terminology being used over and over

again from the Old Testament to the new as a reference to these Jewish gentiles

or I should say Hebrew gentiles these people who were once a people they were once

the people of God but now they are not God’s people now they have not received Mercy

now they are far away most of them even though some are near all this is a reference to the house of

Israel and this may seem benign at the moment as we’re reading this but you’re going

to see it all come together at the end like the rest of the story from that famous radio guy what’s his name

now you know the rest of the story the Old Testament is the New Testament concealed the New Testament is the Old

Testament revealed now um this is a passage that we looked at uh just a second ago

that they were a chosen race these people were a chosen race a royal priesthood a holy nation a treasured possession

a called out of Darkness that called out people once you were not a people but now you are God’s people once you had not

received Mercy but now you have received Mercy where have we seen this before where we saw in Hosea in a previous slide

and um we see here in Exodus 19 a reference again to these treasured possessions and these Kingdom of priests

and these holy Nations and so for once and for all we can

finally answer the question who is well because of everything that we’ve just read there in First Peter 2 and exodus

19 we can see that the chosen the Sheep the called the holy nation the royal priesthood the

treasured possession the bride is all the house or all of Israel

that’s always a reference to Israel now let’s look at First Peter 1. the letters

of First Peter or the letters of Peter are written to those in the diaspora in the dispersion they were written to the

Lost ten tribes how do we know this because Peter says in First Peter 1 1 to those

who are elect Exiles of the dispersion

in pontus galatia who’s the book of Galatians written to by Paul

more than likely the same exact people so here in this one verse we see Peter

calling those people elect so now we can cross that off

our list of who is who and then Peter says or sorry Paul says

in Ephesians 2 but now in Christ Jesus you who were once far off those that’s that’s the

house of Israel as detailed in Daniel have been brought near by the blood of Christ

for he himself is our peace who is our he’s talking about the peace between the

house of Judah and the house of Israel who made us both one and has broken down

in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law of Commandments expressed in ordinances that he might

created himself one new man in the place of the two so making peace so here in this verse

the one new man as Paul describes it is also the Unified

1 hour, 11 minutes

tribes of Israel that Jesus Through the cross had reconciled

somehow we’re going to learn more about it later who would reconciled somehow this

division between the two houses why was there a wall of hostility

well most Christians who don’t understand their Old Testaments will look at that and go well he’s talking about the hostility between Jew and

Gentile well he is but he’s not there is a dividing wall of hostility

between the Hebrew Gentiles or the Lost ten tribes of the House of Israel

and the house of Judah we learn about it in Isaiah 11.

where it says he will raise a signal for the Nations and will assemble the banished of Israel and gather that his

first of Judah from the four corners of the Earth the jealousy of Ephraim shall depart and

those who harass Judah shall be cut off a frying shall not be jealous of Judah

and Judah shall not harass a frying why was Ephraim jealous of Judah

well because Ephraim was divorced and Judah wasn’t remember Ephraim is a reference to the house of Israel

but the house of Israel was the only one divorced not Judah so there was hostility between Ephraim

and Judah because of this jealousy and Judah shall not harass Ephraim why is Judah harassing her Ephraim

well because Ephraim was divorced and cast into the the Nations into the Gentiles

so what there was this dividing wall of hostility that existed among the houses

that somehow was broken down through the cross

and we have to figure out why or how and then he makes that statement about

this abolishing the law of Commandments expressed in ordinances another passage another famous passage

that Lawless Christians like to turn to to say well here it says right here that this the law was abolished

is that what this is saying or could there be something more to it and I think we’re going to see there was something indeed

more to it so just to make sure we’re all still tracking along here I wanted to do this

we start with the 12 tribes of Israel and of course we know historically they were disobedient

all the tribes were disobedient so God divided them and gave ten tribes to jeroboam if you

recall and two tribes to rehoboam well that was the dividing of the tribes

and they became known as the house of Israel and the house of Judah because of the House of Israel’s

Disobedience she was divorced for all intents and purposes she became Gentiles because God was no longer their

God and he was no longer their people they were cast into Assyria and then

into the rest of the world so when Yeshua comes on the scene he

says he was sent to find these people only now

the house of Judah was also disobedient and she was cast into Babylon for 70 years

because of her rejection of the Sabbath and after the seven years she was allowed to return to Jerusalem to

rebuild it and became known as the Jews so it’s important that we understand

that going forward because we need to know who was who and now that we know who the Sheep are we can start to

understand our new testament a little bit better again John 10 a passage we’ve already

read the sheep hear his voice and he calls his own Sheep by name and leads them out when he is brought out all his

own he goes before them and the Sheep follow him for they know his voice John 10

I am the dwar of the sheep all who come before me are thieves and robbers but the Sheep did not listen to them I am the door

but those sheep have to go through to come back if anyone enters by me he will be saved

and will go in and out and find Pastor the thief comes only to steal and to kill and destroy I came that they may have life and have it abundantly I am

the Good Shepherd the Good Shepherd lays down his life for the Sheep oh

there’s something there brothers and sisters in that one statement that’s going to blow your mind here in a moment

who was a Hired Hand and not a shepherd He who does not own the Sheep sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and

fleas and the Wolf snatches them and scatters them he flees because he’s a Hired Hand and cares nothing for the

Sheep I am the Good Shepherd I know my own and my own know me just as a father knows me and I know the father and I lay

down my life for the sheep and I have other sheep that are not of this fold I must bring them also they will listen

1 hour, 17 minutes

to my voice so there’s going to be one flock and one Shepherd understanding the two houses is going to

deepen your Bible study but we have to recap God’s marriage and divorce of Israel this is key going

forward in Ezekiel 16 again a passage that we’ve already read I’m not going to read it again in its

entirety I’ll highlight there the stuff that I’ve gotten orange just for sake of time God made his vow with Israel and

entered into a covenant with her and she became his then the adultery happened

you trusted in your beauty and played the because of your Renown and lavished your whorings on any passerby

what does this mean God had made Israel the greatest nation on the planet

people traveled from all over the world to do two things to one just to witness

the awe and the glory of the temple itself and the lands surrounding the temple

it was green it was Lush it was abundantly wealthy they were blessed Beyond

I want our ability to even comprehend and because of that she was renowned

but she hoarded that beauty she hoarded that stuff and began to worship other gods you took some of your garments and made

for yourself colorful shrines and played the but like has never been or ever shall be

that was her adultery to God so God divorced the ten tribes

sent her away with a decree of divorce why couldn’t she divorce why couldn’t God divorce Judah

well because of the prophecies about Judah because of the prophecies about Yeshua coming from that tribe coming from that

line he couldn’t divorce her but he did divorce the tent and sent her away with a decreed divorce

okay the Prophecies of hosea’s timeline let’s look at this word briefly Gomer’s children we looked at them a second ago

no mercy and not my people two great names for kids there was a curse lace on the house of

Israel Hosea told him to go and take for yourself a wife of whoredom

he took a for a wife and had children with them or he did this on purpose he was trying to make a

point the girl was made called No Mercy and the boy was called not my people for

you were not my people and I am not your God and at the same time all this was done

as a prophecy of sorts about the house of Israel this was God lamenting

over his people and her adultery and her unfaithfulness and this was prophecy about her future

she would become known as a people of No Mercy a people that were not considered to be God’s people

and yet there was still a promise of redemption for them somehow

as in Isaiah chapter 2 we see in that day declares the Lord he will call me my

husband and no longer will you call me my ba’al for I will remove the names of the balls

from their mouth and he shall be remembered by name no more and I will make for them a covenant on that day with the Beast of the field

the birds of the heavens creeping things of the ground and I will abolish the ball with the sword a war from the land and I will make you

lie down save in safety this is talking about his return and I will betroth you to me forever

I will betrothel to me the righteousness and injustices and steadfast love and mercy I will betroth you to me in

faithfulness and you shall know the Lord and in that day I will answer declares the Lord I will answer the heavens and they shall answer the Earth and the

Earth shall answer the Grain and the wine and the oil and they shall answer Jezreel and I will show her or sow her

for myself in the land and I will have mercy on no mercy

and I will say to not my people You Are My People and he shall say you

1 hour, 22 minutes

are my God so here we have in the Prophecies of Hosea

God lamenting over his people divorcing the house of Israel giving her a new name

no mercy not my people while in Chapter 2 he says in that day

there’s going to come a time when he says to no mercy

that I’m going to have mercy on you and when he says to not my people

You Are My People well when when is this going to happen well

he says in a chapter 3 for the children of Israel shall dwell many days without king or Prince without sacrifice or

pillar without ephod or household Gods afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the Lord their God and

1 hour, 23 minutes

David their King and they shall come in fear to the Lord and to his goodness in the last days

so to make sure you’re tracking along somehow through the cross

God Made A Way for the Lost ten tribes the house of Israel

to come back into the fold but they haven’t Hosea is saying that they won’t fully

come back into the fold until the last days

put the horn to your mouth One Like an Eagle comes against the house of the Lord because they transgress my Covenant and rebel against my law

Israel cries out to me my God we know you this is again an image of the last days Israel has rejected what is good an

enemy will pursue him so here we have an image of the last days where the people of Israel are saying my God we know you we know you and that made me think of Matthew 7.

where you know people come to God and say hey we we know you we know you and Yeshua says no I I didn’t know you

depart from me you workers of lawlessness could this be a reference to in part to the people of Israel I think maybe

because although in the last days they are prophesied to come back I don’t think

they will all come back and in its entirety prophecy that got us somehow going to gather them up

were I to write for him my laws by the ten thousands they would be regarded as a strange thing he’s talking about his people who were

in Exile who were into the diaspora and they had gotten so bad becoming so involved in the Nations that

God’s laws became strange to them and I asked the question in the class that I taught on this how many of us would say that God’s laws

were a strange thing and shouldn’t be obeyed well I think a lot of us have looked at God’s laws and thought they

were strange like the house of Israel did so you are Israel by the help of your God return

hold fast to love and Injustice and wait continually for your God return

oh Israel for you have stumbled because of your iniquity take with you your words return to the Lord so even through all of this

even through God divorcing them and sending them out he was still telling

them to return to return to return but the Bible records that she did not

return and has not returned now we have to take a quick look at the two olive trees because they also speak

to this issue the Bible says in Jeremiah 11 conspiracy exists among the men of Judah

and the inhabitants of Jerusalem those are the Jews they have turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers that would be Israel the whole Israel

who refused to hear my words they have gone after other gods to serve them the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my Covenant but I

made with their fathers therefore says the Lord behold I am bringing disaster upon him that they cannot Escape though they cry to me I

will not listen to them in the cities of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem will go and cry to the gods to whom they make offerings but they cannot save them

the time of their trouble for your gods have become as many as your cities El Judah and as many as the streets of Jerusalem are there are the

altars you have set up to shame altars to make offerings to ball therefore do not pray for this people or

lift up a cry or prayer on their behalf I will not listen when they call to me in the time of their trouble what right has my beloved in my house

when she has done many vile Deeds can even sacrificial flesh of virtue or Doom

can you then exalt the Lord once called you Israel the whole Israel a green olive

tree beautiful with good fruit but with the Roar of a great temptus he will set fire to it

and its branches will be consumed the Lord of hosts who planted he was the creek disaster against you because of

the evil that the house of Israel the house of Judah have done provoking me to anger by making offerings to ba’al

Paul talks about this in his writings he talks about this issue of the Olive Tree

and this brothers and sisters is probably going to be the most challenging slide to follow

so gerd your loins and try to stay with me here because it took a lot for me to get my brain around this

I’ve got some sections blocked out on purpose to help us understand what this means in Romans 9

Paul says what if God Desiring to show his wrath and to make his known his power has endured with

much patience vessels of Wrath prepared for Destruction in order to make known their witches of his glory vessels of Mercy which he has

prepared beforehand for Glory even us who me is called not from the Jews only

but also from the Gentiles uh as indeed he says in Hosea those who

were not my people I will call my people and her to her who was not beloved I will call Beloved and in the very place where it was said

to them you are not my people there they will be called the Sons of the Living God and I don’t know about you many times as a Christian over the years

I’ve read this and scratched my head every single time what in the world when the world’s going on I’m sure all of you

can probably relate to this so I took the time to fill in some things based on what we’ve already read

to help us understand what’s going on here let’s read this again what if God Desiring to show his wrath and to make

known his power has endured with much patience vessels of Wrath that’s the house of Israel

who were prepared for Destruction in order to make known The Riches of his glory for vessels of Mercy that’s also

the house of Israel it’s very easy to read this and think he’s talking about two separate people

which he has prepared or chosen beforehand for Glory even us Jews

whom he has called not from the Jews only again that’s Benjamin and Judah

but also from the Gentiles the house of Israel as indeed he says in Hosea

those who were not my people that’s a reference to the house of Israel who are now Gentiles I will call

my people and those who were was not beloved I will call beloved now off to the right

in that Bracken bracket I show in this verse that the house of Israel was both

the vessels of Destruction and vessels of Mercy

but God was going to perform in his day and the same was also true in that second verse and in the very place where

it was said to them you are not my people there they will be called sons of the Living God so

in both of those passages we see that the house of Israel are both

vessels of Destruction and vessels of Mercy he was going to use them

to reveal all these things about his character and then we continue verses 17-24

but if some of the branches the houses of Israel or House of Israel were broken off they were broken off why because they were divorced

and you former Pagan Gentiles uh although a wild Olive shoot so and I was talking to

not just Hebrew Gentiles but Pagan Gentiles Were A Wild Olive suit were

grafted in among the others a whole tree of Israel and now share in the nourishing root

of the Olive Street that’s Yeshua do not be arrogant toward the branches

if you are remember if you are remember it is not you who support the root but

the root that supports you then you will say branches were broken off that’s a house the house of Israel

so that I Pagan Gentile by faith might be grafted in

that is true they the house of Israel were broken off because of their unbelief but you

knew convert you Gentile convert Stand Fast through faith do not become proud

but fear for if God did not spare the natural branches the house of Israel neither will he spare you

1 hour, 33 minutes

note then the kindness and the severity of God severity toward those who have fallen but God’s kindness to you provided you

continue in his kindness otherwise two will be cut off and even if they the house of Israel do

not continue in their unbelief will be grafted back in for God has the power to graft them in

again for a few Pagan Gentile were cut from what is by

nature a wild olive tree that’s the Nations and grafted in contrary to Nature into a

cultivated Olive Tree which is Israel how much more will these the natural branches the house of Israel be grafted

back into their own olive tree why am I going through all of this

because it’s understanding the story of the houses of Israel that give meaning to these difficult

passages that we see in the New Testament it helps us to understand

and the Bible says my people are perished for lack of knowledge

and I don’t want that to be you I don’t I want you to understand your Bibles yeah so here we are in Romans 11. verses

25 through 20 or 33. nice to you be wise in your own sight are you not want you to be unaware of this mystery so this whole thing we’ve

all been looking at this is a huge mystery to a lot of people Brothers a partial hardening has come come upon Israel

until what the fullness of the Gentiles has come in

where have we seen that before remember we saw that back in a frying’s prophecy back in the first few slides

the fullness of the Nations or the fullness of the Gentiles and in this way all Israel will be saved

as it is written the deliverer will come from Zion he will banish ungodliness from Jacob and in this will be my

Covenant with them when I take away their sins as regards the gospel they the house of

Israel are enemies for your sake but as regards election remember who’s

the elect Israel but as regards election they the house of Israel are beloved for the sake of

their forefathers for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable that’s the a reference to

the promises given to Abraham or just as you were at one time disobedient to God but now I’ve received Mercy because of their Disobedience so

they too have now been disobed in order that by the mercy is shown to you they may also now receive Mercy

for God is consigned all to Disobedience that he may have mercy on all oh The Depths and the riches and the

wisdom of knowledge how unsearchful ours judgments and how unscrutable are his ways okay what in the world is Paul

talking about here you may recall from some of you from the first time that I taught this

lesson that I had with me some props on the table and the props were two wine glasses

and in one glass was wine and then the other last was water

the glass with wine in it was the house of Israel a glass of water was the Nations

when God divorced the house of Israel he poured them into the Nations so I took the glass of wine and I poured it into

1 hour, 37 minutes

the glass of water and yet he promised somehow to get them back

how do you get them back how do you get the wine back out of the water

once they have been Blended once they have been mixed you don’t

you take the whole glass and this is hard and parcel

God’s plan for the world and this is what he is saying here he is consigned all to Disobedience that he

may have Earth mercy and all he is poured Israel into the Nations so he may take the entire glass

for the purposes of salvation and this idea this truth

is the thing that Angels long to look into they couldn’t figure it out they couldn’t figure out how God was going to

provide salvation for the world and to use his people Israel to accomplish that

remember our quote from Genesis 48.

talking about Ephraim but he was going to be greater and his offspring

shall become a multitude of Nations or a fullness of Nations

this was a reference to the world that Paul is now talking about here in Romans 11.

and again we go back to Abraham’s promise that he would be multiplied

as stars of heaven and sand on the seashore and that because of him all the nations

of the Earth will be blessed even the angels long to look

into these things but brothers and sisters it gets better the two olive trees joined together

this is ezekiel’s prophecy of the future coming together of the of the branches the word of the Lord came to me son of

man take a tree and run on it for Judah and the people of Israel associated with him then take another three and run on in it for Joseph

the tree of Ephraim and all the house of Israel associated with him so two sticks one for Judah one for Israel

and join them together and join them one to another into one tree that they may become one in your hand

and when your people say to you will you not tell us what you mean by these say to them thus says the Lord God behold I’m about to take the tree of Joseph

that is in the hand of Ephraim and the tribes of Israel associated with him and I will join with it the tree of

1 hour, 40 minutes

Judah and make them one tree that they may be one in my hand

so here we see an ancient Prophecy from Ezekiel about the two trees

becoming one where have we seen that in the New

Testament we see it when Paul talks about the one new man

notice as we read this a number of times the words you and we are mentioned

knowing what you know now about the house of Israel and the house of Judah try to understand this in a different light

therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh

it’s a reference to the house of Israel they were called the uncircumcision by what is called the circumcision that’s a

fancy way of saying they were called the Gentiles by what is called the Jews because only the Jews were circumcised

which is made in the flesh by hands remember that you were at that time separated from Christ

alienated from the Commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenant’s promise having no hope

and without God in the world but now in Christ Jesus you who were once far off hmm that sounds familiar

that’s Daniel’s words talking about the house of Israel have been brought near by the blood of Christ

for he himself is our peace who has made us both one or two sticks

and is broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law of Commandments expressed in ordinances that he might

create in himself one new man in place of the two so making peace

and might reconcile us the two houses both to God in one body through the cross thereby killing the hostility

and he came and preached peace to you who were far off hmm House of Israel and peace to you who

were near house of Judah through him we both have access in one Spirit to the father

so then you are no longer strangers and Aliens but you are fellow citizens with the Saints and members of the household

of God built on the foundation of the Apostles and the prophets Christ Jesus himself being the Cornerstone in whom

the whole structure a whole tree being joined together grows into a holy

Temple in the Lord in him you also are being built together into a Dwelling Place for God by his spirit

now all of a sudden passages like this begin to make sense but let’s look as I

promised before we would at this statement by abolishing the law of Commandments expressed in ordinances

is Paul saying here that this is definitive proof about the law

as we know it God’s holy law was abolished what could Paul mean

by saying that these Commandments expressed in ordinances Were Somehow

abolished in Isaiah 15 7 we see I have seen their ways wait a minute I got that backwards That

was supposed to come first sorry um so peace to peace those who are far near so that’s a an Old Testament reference to what Paul is saying in

Ephesians but we have to explore this issue of this these laws expressed in ordinances Were

Somehow abolished what could that mean is this the law

or is it something else and we’re going to see right now that is indeed something else

but we’re going to understand the Father’s Love Story God divorces the northern kingdom

in Jeremiah 3 8 he says I sent her away with a decree of divorce

you have played the with many lovers and yet in Hosea 3 he says with a

promise that in the last days afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the Lord their God

David dear King and they shall come into fear of the Lord unto his goodness in the last days so even though God has

divorced his people the 10 tribes there is this prophecy

that prophets and angels are looking into to try to figure out how this is going to be possible

and the reason that they are so confused is because there is a major problem standing in the way

of this happening and it’s the law of the husband that we see in Deuteronomy 24.

when this is God’s law regarding marriage when a man takes a wife and marries her could God marry Israel

yes if then she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some indecency in her

adultery and he writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house which he did

with Israel and she departs out of his house and if she goes and becomes another man’s wife which Israel did she hoed

herself to the Nations and the latter man hates her and writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his

house or if the latter man dies why is that important well because once he’s dead she’s no

longer bound to him if she goes back to her former husband verse 4 who sent her away

he may not take her again to be his wife after she has been defiled for that is

an Abomination before the Lord so here is a major problem in this whole

plan by God’s own words he is prevented

from doing the one thing that he promised he would do all throughout Hosea

and other places of the Old Testament we see This Promise This prophecy

of God somehow getting these people back but according to his own law

once she has been divorced once she has hoard herself to another man in this case the world and she tries to come

back he cannot take her this applies to us

but it also applies to God we have to ask the question can and will Jehovah violate his own law

now believe it or not I’ve asked this question to several people I may say sure he’s God

but that would make him duplicitous and subject to change in his own favor

and we know Malachi 3 says I am the Lord I do not change

but worse to violate his own law would still make him a law breaker

and that is not the God that I serve his words

his laws his Commandments are settled in heaven forever

they are not going to change and nor is he so how in the world

is God going to take these ten tribes back as prophesied

if his own law prevents that from happening

let me ask this question if you want to turn off your mics for a moment to answer this please do

who was the old Covenant for the house of Israel

Israel all of Israel right well the old Covenant was

or the 12 tribes in total who was the New Covenant for

the ten trap the ten tribes the ten tribes yeah a lot of people want to say the church

the Gentiles the world the Christians and yet we see in Jeremiah

one of the very few Prophecies of the coming new covenant behold the days are coming declares the

Lord but I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel in the house of Judah

the New Covenant isn’t for the church it isn’t for Christians it isn’t for gentiles

as so many people believe to be true the New Covenant was for the same people

that the old Covenant was for under the old Covenant they were the United House of Israel the United tribes

under the New Covenant they are still divided unfortunately but it’s for the same people

not like the Covenant that I made with her fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt my Covenant was they broke though I was their husband declares the

Lord this is the Covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days declares the Lord I will put my law within them

and I will write it on their hearts I will be their God and they shall be my people so here Jeremiah says the law doesn’t go

away it goes to your heart and he will be their God and they shall be

my people so again another Passage that ruins the doctrine of some people

who misunderstand their Bibles as to who the the New Covenant was four remember

Jesus said in Matthew 15 I was sent only to the Lost House of the sheep of Israel or the lost sheep of the House of Israel

sorry this second moment in John 11 we see this interchange with Caiaphas it

1 hour, 52 minutes

was the high priest at that time who says you know nothing at all you do not realize that it’s better for

you that one man die for the people than the whole nation perished he did not say this on his own but as

high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would indeed die for who

or the Jewish Nation and not only for that Nation but also for who

has scattered children of God to bring them together and make them one

um another challenging Passage a lot of people will just skip right

over because they don’t understand it they’ll hold to their doctrines without ever stopping to consider

what this means the Bible says that Jesus would die for the Jewish Nation that’s the house

of Judah but also for the scattered children of God

who is the diaspora the ten tribes in order to make them one new man one

new tree that we’ve already looked at the two trees become one

but one new man but something stands in the way of this happening which we’ve already looked at the law of marriage

hmm how can he get her back there’s only one way

Romans 7 all teaches us about this pay attention here brothers and sisters

or do you not know Brothers for I am speaking to those who know the law stop

1 hour, 54 minutes

if you do not understand the law you will not understand anything Paul

says Beyond this point can I get an amen I know you’re muted amen okay

you need to understand the law you need to understand your Old Testament to understand many of the things that Paul

was saying this is just one of them I am speaking to those who know the law

that the law is binding on a person as long as he lives okay

where have we seen that before we just saw that in Deuteronomy 24 about the husband dying

and we know he’s talking about the law of marriage in this section because he goes on to say

for a married woman is bound by law to her husband

1 hour, 55 minutes

while he lives but if her husband dies she is released

from the law of marriage accordingly she will be calling adulterous if she

lives with another man while her husband is alive but if her husband dies she is freed from that law

not the law again this is another passage that Christians want to save see here it says

that we’re freed from the law no he’s saying that the wife will be freed

from that law that specific law in Deuteronomy 24.

that’s that that’s there for a reason and if she marries another man she is not an adulteress

likewise Brothers you also have died to the law of marriage through the dead body of Christ

I put that that’s my words you have been you have died to the law of marriage

through the dead body of Christ so that you may belong to another the Risen Body of Christ to him who has been

raised from the dead in order that we may bear fruit for God for while we were living in the flesh our sinful passions aroused by the law

we’re at work in our members to bear fruit for death but now we are released from the law of marriage

having died to that which held us captive so that we serve in the new way of the spirit not in the old way of the

written code that law that Paul mentioned in Ephesians 2

the law of Commandments bound up in ordinances that was the law that stood in between

the joining together of these two people now let me show you

a question that we’ve all come here to see who was Israel’s husband

I’m looking for answers Jesus oh God God right

why did he divorce her Disobedience or Disobedience adultery right

according to the Deuteronomy 24 can an adulteress come back to her first husband no no

what’s it called when a woman cheats on her husband no adultery adultery according to Romans 7 what is the only

way that she can be freed from the law of adultery we’ve just read it yeah the death of the husband the death of the

first husband Jesus that

is the reason Jesus died that Jesus died

sorry so anyway

makes me cry this is the this this was the only way

according to his own law he couldn’t take her back unless the husband died

he came back for the lost sheep of the House of Israel

and died on a cross so that she would be dead

to the law of marriage he is now dead to the law of marriage and that we

May belong to another the Risen Body of Christ

only one way the bridegroom died for his bride this is the mystery that the prophets

describes are trying to solve this is what the Angels didn’t understand and long to look into

this was the good news of the Gospel and this is why Yeshua had

to die this is the kind of question that every Christian

needs to be able to answer he’s God why does he have to die he could just snap his fingers and provide

salvation for Humanity he could do it with a thought foreign

which is just as much as a fabric of the universe as gravity is

he is not going to break his own law he had to die

to free his people from the law of marriage which demanded that she not returned she can’t come

back until he’s dead we see in Revelation 2 8 the words of the first and the last

who died and came to life

likewise Brothers you have also died to the law of the husband of the dead body of Christ This is why he had to die by

dying for his bride he fulfilled the requirements of the law in Deuteronomy 24.

so that you may belong to another this is why he had to rise to him who has been raised from the dead

the Risen Body of Christ in order that we may bear fruit for God by Rising again he was becoming an

eligible bachelor for the bride

how do we fit in okay so this is you know we can read this and go okay everything’s for Israel well it is

question in the Bible who are is Abraham’s descendants and

offspring Israel

in Galatians 3 this is post-resurrection Paul writing there is neither Jew nor Greek there’s neither slave nor free

there is no male or female or you were all one in Christ Jesus and if you are Christ then you are what

you are Abraham’s offspring you are Israel

heirs according to the promise and we see over and over and over again

in Ephesians 2 you House of Israel he made alive who were dead in trespasses in sin in which

you once walked according to the course of this world according to the prince of power of the air the prince who now works and the sons of Disobedience among

whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lust of our flesh fulfilling the desires of the flashing of the mind and were by Nature children

of Wrath just as the others so here he’s saying that the house of Israel was no different than the Pagan

Gentiles they were objects of Wrath just like the world but God who was rich in Mercy because of

his great love which he which he loved us even when we were dead and trespasses made us alive together with Christ by grace

you have been saved and raised up raised us up together and made us sit together in the Heavenly places in Christ Jesus but in the ages

to come he might show the exceeding richness of his grace his kindness toward us in Christ Jesus for by Grace

you have been saved through faith and not of yourselves is the gift of God not of Works unless anyone should boast for we are his workmanship created in Christ

Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand we should walk in them therefore remember that you House of Israel wants Gentiles In the Flesh who

are now who are called uncircumcised or Gentiles by what is called the circumcised the Jews

Made In the Flesh by hands that at that time you were without Christ being aliens from the Commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of

Promise having no hope without God but now in Christ Jesus you were once far off have been brought near by the blood of

Christ so because of the cross the house of Israel has now been brought near

because of the Cross they are now able to return they just haven’t yet

we see in Galatians 6 Paul uses the word Israel in a different way than he ever has before

and as many as walk according to this rule peace and mercy be upon them and upon the Israel of God so now because

there is now no Jew or Greek or slave or free or male or female if you have faith in Christ you are part

of the Israel of God and we see pre-cross

Jesus told them when they’re sharing their faith go to the Lost House of the sheep of Israel

again I was sent only to the lost sheep of the House of Israel but after the cross post-resurrection he

says go now and Make Disciples of all Nations so we see this shift

from before he died to after he died or after he resurrected to the Nations

to the world the to fulfill the prophecies that were made through Abraham Jacob and Ephraim

to go reach the world now I’m not going to go through this again

I I put this here just so we could deepen the conviction but we have to ask the question how do we fit in

when we are baptized in the name of Yeshua you are grafted into what Paul calls the Israel but which tribe

well we’re grafted into the tribe of Joseph a nation and a company of Nations shall

come from you all these prophecies that were prophesied about Jacob Joseph and Ephraim Joseph is the

standard Bearer for the tribe so we are the tribe of Joseph and who was the who was Joseph the type

for in the Old Testament and the story of Joseph in the Bible he was the type for Yeshua

I’m moving through some of this stuff quickly here because I want to get to some of the last um some of the last slides sing and

rejoice so Daughter of Zion for behold I am coming and I will dwell in your midst as the Lord many nations shall be joined

the Lord in that day and they shall become my people who is his people Israel

Zechariah is prophecy that in that day in the last days this is a chapter devoted to the end times

that people will be joined to the Lord in that day they will become Israel

the marriage supper of the Lamb are we married yet well no if you understand uh The Book of Revelation and the

arable of the wedding Feast you’ll understand that that happens after the second coming

uh where the wedding of the of the Lamb comes he says here uh again in the second paragraph now and again Jesus

spoke to them a parable saying the Kingdom of Heaven may be compared to a King who gave a wedding Feast for his son and sent his servants the prophets

to call those who were invited Israel to the wedding Feast but they would not come again he sent other servants prophets

saying tell those who were invited see I have prepared my dinner my oxen my fat caps have been slaughtered and everything is ready come to the wedding

feasts but they Israel paid no attention and went off one to his farm ran out to his business while the other uh while

the rest seized his servants the prophets treated them shamefully and killed them the King was angry and he

sent his troops the angels and destroyed those murderers and burned their cities and then he said to his servants the

wedding Feast is ready but those invited were not worthy go therefore to the main roads and invite to the wedding Feast as

many as you find the Gentiles and those servants who went out into the roads and gather them all they

2 hours, 9 minutes

found both good and bad so the wedding hall was filled with guests so the question is is really this whole lesson

is this really just about the 12 tribes of Israel well when you know your Bibles the answer is yes

there was 12 tribes under one king 12 Apostles under one king 12 baskets left over full of bread

12 year old girl healed by Jesus Jesus began teaching in the temple when he was 12.

Jesus says it was 12 hours in a day 12 months in a year in Revelation there are 12 000 from each

tribe that are sealed 12 angels at the gates 12 gates the 12 pearls

12 Spies remember the story of the spies who went into Canaan how many of them came back with a good

report to remember

the other ten didn’t Ten Commandments written on two tablets of stone

and parable of the Prodigal Son is the story of Israel when you break it all down

one new man one tree one people the Israel

of God okay by going over this again I learned

uh one thing this time that I didn’t learn of all the other times I studied this

that the Jews were not part of the divorce or the tribe to Judah was part of the

divorce okay let’s talk while you’re talking I’m gonna figure

out a way to stop sharing my screen so the reason why Judah wasn’t divorced

was because she came back right well there’s a reasonable because

the reason that Judah wasn’t divorced was because of the prophecies regarding David and the and the coming Messiah

the coming Messiah couldn’t come out of a divorce uh Nation so Judah was not divorced because of

that okay

and just to clarify I mean because you have to be when you say Judah there’s the tribe of Judah but then the house of Judah also includes Benjamin which is where David came from right that’s

correct yep how come I’m the only one showing my ugly mug you guys are all afraid of

showing your faces um so yeah any other here okay

any other thoughts did any of it blow you away was it confusing did you write any questions down from the slides that

we should cover I think one part that would be helpful

just to kind of bring it back and and kind of talk again about this whole concept of

abolishing the law and whether the law applies to the Jews uh only and not to Christians is you

know kind of bringing it back together saying now since you are part of the Israel

and now this applies to you as well right like helping someone understand

that yeah now that they are part of the Israel what does that mean like how do they

that this is where we can start teaching people about the law well yes I think uh I think

where people have been deceived over the years as they think that Christianity and um

the church is some different entity some new toy that God has and

he’s done with Israel um what what they fail to realize is that through our faith in Christ we are

becoming Israel we are joining with the Israel Israel never went anywhere God’s people has

always been Israel and always will be Israel we are grafted in to Israel through our faith

that’s what Paul teaches about in Romans 9 and Romans 11.

we’re grafted in so if we’re grafted into the tree that means everything that pertains to the tree pertains to us

we are not we are not excluded from the nutrients of the tree

or the demands on the tree or the or the requirements of the tree where part of the tree have you ever have you ever seen uh

an actual Branch grafted into a tree it’s it becomes part of the tree it’s

it’s it receives its nutrients and its strength from the root which is Christ so this is

all um it’s all there in the Bible but many people want a hold of the fact

or hold of the thought that the only Christians are the ones that are God’s favorite and uh and he’s done

with Israel matter of fact that that uh that theory is very common in an icoc with amongst the teachers you know they

they believe that you know God is is done with Israel he gave the kingdom to the Gentiles which is not true nope the other

connection is uh oh sorry we’re talking about yeah I was just going to say Angela asked a question Angela Hines isn’t both houses lost both houses have

to come into the New Covenant agreement yes that’s correct um however the house of Judah is still

under Covenant the house of Judah the faithful house of Judah is still under Covenant meaning

they’re still holding to the ways of the old Covenant as best they can the the Orthodox uh Jews that doesn’t mean

they’re saved but then again remember we don’t ever talk about who’s saved and who’s not because that’s not our job it’s not our role so to use the word

lost uh is not quite the word I would use Angela uh it was the ten tribes of the

House of Israel that were sent into the Nations and then lost the two tribes of

Benjamin and Judah remained in in Jerusalem and they’ve been there ever since well at least until uh 70 A.D and

then they came back in 1948 another story we’re going down a different Rabbit Hole um so because I hope that hopefully that

answers your question you said what happened after the destruction of Jerusalem with the house of Judah also scattered amongst the Nations so in 70 A.D

I’m sure that’s what you’re referencing or maybe you’re referencing the initial destruction um Angela’s gone right now so I’m

answering this on her behalf I don’t know which one of those you’re at you’re referring to Angela so maybe you can bring that up to me another time

anyways David you were saying I was going to say also that um kind of looking for the scripture I think it’s

an actually um when you talk about you know a lot of people say well we’re now under the New

2 hours, 17 minutes

Covenant right and then you if if and it says you know that there he you know he’s going to write their law on their on their heart right Romans 2.

214 yes right 214 and 15.

um making that connection back you see it’s a New Covenant the written the law is written on their hearts and you need to say well that’s where you can connect

that back to Jeremiah 31. that says he makes a New Covenant with the house of Judah and the house of Israel yep right

yep so you have to be one of those to be part of this New Covenant right and when you say I have written the law

which law is he talking about it’s the only law that was available in Jeremiah 31 at the time is God’s law right

so you know making that you know because sometimes they say well it’s a New Covenant now we’re under the New Covenant well you’re under New Covenant then you should be part then the law

God’s law is written on your heart and you should be obeying that law as well it didn’t go away so Ed I have a question so I just I’m

just saying I’m just suggesting making these little tweaks to kind of help with some of these objectives and making these connections say that David because

every time I teach this I realize that there’s stuff like that that I’ve got to reorganize

um because it’s so dense there’s so much to it right um I I see you know like for instance

for today’s lesson I I skipped probably a half a dozen slides because it was just too much and so I

had to try to narrow it down um and I’ll continue to do so take any input I can

yeah I know I think that it’s just again if you’re trying to help like in our case some of our family from you know our family of

churches uh you know then then you have to make those connections to the things that they keep on hearing that they’ve heard all the time right and say okay

well contrary to what you have been told this is if you if you know the law if

you like you know Peter and Paul say then this is what it’s referring to yeah

so uh so the house of Judah that’s under the original Covenant

um do they not have to respond to

Christ where does baptism fit in for them or does it because they’re under the original Covenant well of course in

order to to come to Christ you have to be baptized in his name even for the house of Judah even for the

house of Judah yes okay everybody Jesus is the door for everybody regardless of who they are so

2 hours, 20 minutes

even though they are under the original Covenant and considered his people they don’t have salvation until they are

baptized into Christ yeah for all intents and purposes the old Covenant no longer exists right

in their minds it does because that’s the only Covenant they know right so there was

one unified Israel that was the 12 tribes God divided them let me go back to a

certain slide here that I can show you if I can so yeah you see this Ellie

so so you start at the top there was 12 tribes they were disobedient then God split them in two they became the house

of Israel in the house of Judah on the left the house of Israel was disobedient

God divorced her and they were cast into the Nations becoming Gentiles themselves

on the right Judah was also disobedient they were cast into Babylon for 70 years then they came back

and rebuilt Jerusalem and became known as what we know as the Jews Okay so

um today fast forward 2000 years the Orthodox Jews in Jerusalem and around the world for that matter

still holds you to the cyanatic Covenant because that’s the only time that they know

because they have rejected Jesus cyanatic Ellie meaning the the tablets

that were given at Mount Sinai right now Jesus when Jesus came he was coming

back to provide salvation so to speak for the house of Israel who was cast off

okay now after the cross they’re coming together was possible

but they still haven’t done that they’ve done it in small pockets but as two

uh Global entities they have not done that and someday they will some someday

regardless of which house you’re a part of there will be people from both of those Nations who bow the need of Jesus and

call him Lord so just because Jesus died for the house of Israel

doesn’t automatically mean that they’re saved they have to acknowledge Him as Messiah they have to acknowledge Him as

their lord and be baptized in his name before that happens but it’s possible it’s it’s been made

possible now because of the reconciliation of the cross yes

but what about the other house like the house of Judah you said that they were they were sent into Babylon but not

divorced correct exactly right and so there they haven’t been divorced so they’re still I’m doing a new camera

right yeah still applies to them in the sense that they’re still in the Covenant

to God in the first marriage that he had today that’s correct right and so I I guess the what I’m understanding the

question to me and is that why then do they need Jesus to die why do they need their husband to

die if they are still divorced Covenant they haven’t been divorced yet well because the old Covenant does not exist

2 hours, 24 minutes

why because of Jesus because of the cross when he came he said this is the New Covenant in my blood right

you essentially the Covenant doesn’t apply that doesn’t apply anymore because he’s not married there’s no marriage anymore

yeah well the marriage is over with the dead husband yeah exactly thank you Angela that was where I was getting ready to go so the husband died already

right so the husband dying has freed everybody from that marriage but in the in the in the minds of Orthodox Jews

that doesn’t happen yeah they you know they they don’t accept that because God doesn’t die and he’s

certainly not going to become a man and they’re in their thinking this is the blindness that has happened with the Jews that the Bible says has

happened for a Time um and so yes the marriage is for all intenses intense is annulled or done

away with because of the death of the husband now in order for them to come to Faith they have to be wed to the Risen Body of

Christ right and that’s already outlined yeah now that’s the the little you know I don’t change yet it’s in so are they

remarrying the first husband or now he’s a new husband so God now God now actually changes he’s new he’s not old

the same it’s the same he’s the same right he’s just he can’t he can’t married

and one has died and one has come to life right or I don’t know how you put that but he is the one who his Revelation said the one who died and

came to life so he is he is the same but he still had to die you still have the die of physical death

he’s not different he’s just Resurrected right well and I um

do you hear did you have your question oh yeah I think so all right it’s uh interesting I think

it’s important um for at least you know people that were studying the Bible with and even perhaps some people

even on the call that there’s a when we say that the Covenant is dead it does not mean the law correct

those are two different things there’s the Covenant which is the there’s the one which is the commands of God and

then there’s the Covenant which is the the conditions of contract the relationship with God right so how we

are in this relationship with God is different when Christ died but his law

is that you know just because Jesus died the husband died doesn’t mean the law

2 hours, 27 minutes

died with him right that’s correct it just means that it’s like it’s like when you and David got married you had two things there at the marriage

you had the vows you were sharing with one another and eventually you had to sign a piece of paper that said you were married

right well there’s scriptures you know we’ve had people say to us I don’t I can’t my husband could probably give you the scripture right now where it says

Jesus nailed it to the Cross that’s Colossians too right well people misunderstand and think that that is the

law and it’s not it’s those ordinances it’s that wall of hostility

yes the house of the two have the two houses God nailed that to the wall to the Cross he nailed our debt for

breaking the law to the Cross right right breaking down the wall of hostility yes

yeah he didn’t nail the law he nailed this the sin right the debts that we owed the wages of sin are dead so all of

us whether we are Jews have Jewish blood or not if we are in Christ we are under

the law that was always there that never changed correct regardless of the covenants it was the law has uh the the

law is unchanging and eternal I think the Bible even says it will be with us in heaven for all eternity Everlasting

yes because if we’re in the true image of God we’re the the law of God doesn’t change

of who he is and who he should be right right yeah love yeah and I think David just made a

very good point too that there is you know another thing Ed that we could possibly study out once we all have a minute to chew on this cud which is

really great stuff this is David and I in our family have been studying this jacob to Jesus for years now since the

2 hours, 29 minutes

first time Ed wrote it um is that this law

is is unchanging and that’s what we we need to keep teaching but something that we need to probably look into further is

what that means as far as how we worship Him how do we glorify him and worship

him and that you know he does call us to orderly worship and of course everything he says is based on his law and I think

that would be something um for us to really to jump into because I know that

um I think I can speak for our family and probably a lot of people that have asked us things over the years that

there are a lot of things that we as a church meaning the icoc have adopted

along the way um that we have you know made part of our worship that that isn’t necessarily biblical

uh that isn’t necessarily the word it’s called Strange Fire in the Bible yeah so it doesn’t I don’t I don’t want

to say that oh you know the church is you know doing all these things wrong I think that we’re that they we’ve done

what we could based on what we knew and but now that we know there should be an expectation to do better

um and I it would be nice to to study that out I mean I know like for some things that we’ve done is we we get all

of our food and teaching on Sabbath we worship Saturday mornings we take bread you know we sometimes we’ll do communion

at church with the other you know people that are there just for to for Unity but we take our Bread on Sabbath

um we we do all of our praising um on Sabbath and we use going to church which by the way we never see Jesus in a

church he’s always in the temple courts or in a synagogue but nonetheless when we do go to church we go to stay

connected to be able to provide you know people an opportunity to who are seeking who want to know

these answers but they always ask like was this part of you know the Bible was

so you can see that God is moving and the spirit is moving and people are realizing that a lot of the things that we do

um aren’t necessarily biblical not not sinful they’re just maybe not needed or necessary if you will and there’s

probably things that should be doing that we’re not yeah I mean um I mentioned the Strange Fire you know you remember Aaron’s sons

who brought Strange Fire to the temple and they were God killed them for it and God said you know I’d say that again Ed

what about the strange what Strange Fire okay oh yes they brought Strange Fire to the temple and and the fire consumed them

and Aaron had a problem with this his son’s dying because who was Aaron you know he was the high priest and his two young Sons were killed

effectively by God for bringing This Strange Fire and Moses reminded him hey dude remember what God said that I

must be you know held as holy and so there is this concept of of

strange fire in our worship and what does that mean well I think the Christian church has

created all kinds of weird teachings and doctrines and what they call worship I mean today’s Worship in a lot of churches is basically a glorified

concert it’s It’s Entertainment for them not so much uh you know worship

of of God um I I don’t know that I would call you know thinking about my own

2 hours, 33 minutes

experience with the icoc there were a few things that I considered to be

really wrong but by and large people singing songs and taking communion um isn’t what I would call Sin there was

one time shortly before I was exiled that um they brought across a big wooden cross

into the church and we’re having people nail their sins to the cross oh no

um I I did not participate in that I thought it was idolatry um and you know the little things like

that that I think are uh that that cross the line now where their hearts good behind it yeah of course I’m not judging

their hearts but the Bible is very clear about what God wants and doesn’t want as it pertains to his worship he says over and over again you shall

not worship me that way well it’s incumbent upon us to find out what those waves were

the people were doing in those days that God said do not worship me that way and

and you know and maybe we can do a study on that but um I don’t know I I don’t know what what

that what that would look like I mean Paul uh in First Corinthians 14 talks about orderly worship he says he

basically tells us what that looked like you know where one Prophet had something to say or another Prophet had something to say and someone reads Psalms and

someone have a song you know so there’s there’s that you know we can look at that and go okay that’s there’s a there’s some framework

for us but if we were to return 100 back to the old ways I guarantee it wouldn’t look anything like our modern

day church services it would be in our homes and it would be you know like when we’ve

gotten together and we’re talking and we’re sharing and we’re you know each of us doing something differently the only

thing that we haven’t done thus far in our Gatherings is singing which I think we need to amen maybe one day we’re all

together and Angela comes in and says hey I got this new song Let’s sing it let’s learn it that would that would be great that would be awesome that’s the

kind of thing that we see in First Corinthians 14. and then Chad says Hey yesterday I was reading this Psalm I wanted to share it awesome bro share it

that that would be more like a First Corinthians 14 worship service than just coming in singing a couple songs and sitting down and listening

someone talk for an hour that’s that’s not the that’s not the model we see in Scripture um

right is that require for it to be in a small scale like in your home I’m sorry Sammy like

does the model require or exemplify that it must be like a house Church

environment like is is meeting on a large scale every Sunday no no no no no there’s no biblical

requirement that says you can’t meet in a corporate situation on a Sunday absolutely not when Israel came together for their festivals yeah exactly those

were corporate Gatherings those were large Gatherings so there’s no mandate that says you can’t do that um and I’m not here to say that

everything that we do in the church is sinful I’m just saying that we’ve modeled it from the Catholic Church

our current model is modeled from the Catholic Church believe it or not when you when you do your research on it the way we do Church

goes all the way back to early Roman Catholic practices um again are they sinful well that’s

that’s that could be debated I don’t know that I’d plant my flag on something like that right now but if you want to

get back to you know what we see in the Bible then we would get back to First Corinthians 14.

and we and I point to First Corinthians 14 because there’s no Temple right to properly worship God requires

the presence of the temple which we don’t have and and we’ll never have again well we might have a small version of it

in Israel soon because we know the Antichrist has to make it stand there uh we don’t know if that’s going to be a

full-on temple or if that’s just going to be a tabernacle but once that’s done once that’s gone there is not going to be another Temple

for the rest of time because the Bible tells us that when the New Jerusalem comes there is no Temple inside of it

so long-winded answer to a question but did I answer the question

that was helpful okay all right guys well shabbat shalom have

a great day and um we will see you soon yep thank you all right bye-bye

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • The Teaching treats the Messiah and the story of the two houses of Israel as major themes that illuminate the relationship between the Old and New Testaments.
  • It distinguishes Israel as a whole from the House of Israel (the northern tribes) and the House of Judah.
  • It presents the House of Israel’s scattering and divorce as essential background for understanding ‘lost sheep,’ ‘far off,’ ‘not My people,’ and related New Testament language.
  • Its central theological argument joins Deuteronomy 24 and Romans 7: the death of the Husband removes the marriage-law barrier that prevented the divorced bride from returning.
  • Yeshua’s resurrection is presented as essential to renewed covenant relationship: the Bridegroom dies and rises, making reconciliation possible.
  • The Teaching reads Ephesians 2’s ‘one new man’ as reconciliation and reunification connected to the two houses.
  • The New Covenant is presented as promised to the House of Israel and House of Judah, with Yahovah’s law written on the heart rather than discarded.
  • The Teaching emphasizes that reconciliation made possible by the cross does not automatically equal personal salvation; people must respond to Messiah.
  • The Teaching distinguishes covenant from Yahovah’s law and argues that the death of the covenant Husband does not mean the law itself died.
  • Several historical, linguistic, demographic, and interpretive claims are the speaker’s framework and should be studied and tested against Scripture.
