HELL – Separating Biblical Fact from Fantasy & Myth
ABOUT THIS TEACHING
This Teaching examines common cultural pictures of hell against the biblical vocabulary and passages used for judgment. It distinguishes Sheol/the grave, Gehenna, Hades, Tartarus, Tophet, and the Lake of Fire, then traces the repeated biblical connection between fire and the presence of Yahovah/Yeshua. The Teaching argues that the familiar image of an underground dungeon ruled by Satan does not accurately represent the passages it surveys. It then distinguishes the second death experienced by condemned humanity from the explicit forever-and-ever torment described for Satan, the Beast, the false prophet, and, in the Teaching’s reading of Revelation 14, those who worship the Beast and receive his mark. The final discussion places these ideas within the Teaching’s end-times timeline and openly identifies several details that the speaker says remain uncertain.

Chapter 1: Fairy tales about hell
amen amen thankk you John so here we are hell fairy tales versus the Bible and
spoiler alert you probably believe the fairy tales or at least some of them and uh I think all of us do or have at one
point in time believed the fairy tales about hell this is kind of the image
that pops into people’s minds when they think about hell we’re going to look at another one uh later on in the lesson but this place
of you know fire and torment and smoke and Hell is What kind of what we what we think of and it’s been fostered since
childhood you know I remember being a kid and watching Looney Tunes and seeing images like this you know where
Sylvester the cat gets thrown down to Hell and a big Bulldog is the devil and um
and you know we we grew up watching this kind of stuff and and having this idea of a
dungeoness uh Cavern somewhere in the bowels of Earth where the Damned are put into slavery for eternity and of course
it continues you know with Comics that we see you know like the far side I love far side and here says oh man the
coffee’s cold they thought of everything so again again we we see this
idea of of a dungeon cavernous place of fire and demons
cracken whips and uh you know the Lost down there living in eternity and I
think my favorite um my favorite version of that is Disney’s Hades I’m not sure if you guys have seen
this but I guess it was uh Hercules yes thank you Hercules it was the Hercules you
know cartoon or or or show and this guy played uh played Hades and I think he did such such a masterful job but that’s
my favorite version of it ironically this individual Hades the Greek god of
the underworld is is is where a lot of people get their uh ideas of
Hell uh it comes from Greek mysticism more than it does the B
and we’re going to see that here in a moment all right so fairy tales from our childhood we’ve been taught by our
Chapter 2: Luke 16 and parables
parents teachers Sunday school instructors church and culture that hell is a place of Torment for Sinners after
death it’s depicted as a realm of Eternal Flame and unending pain with no hope of escape this is believed to be the
dwelling place of Satan complete with his Pitchfork and demons reserved for murderers rapists and disobedient
children much like our concept of Heaven is partly shaped by Luke 16 our understanding of Hell also originates
from this passage and I put it up there again so that we could just briefly take a look at it uh last week in this verse
we looked at uh all the parts of this verse that made us think about heaven this week we’ll look at all the all the
verses that made us think about hell um they’re highlighted in yellow where the
rich man was in torment in Hades and again in the second paragraph
being tormented in this flame and in the third paragraph unless they come to this place
of Torment uh so we determined you know last week that in the previous lesson on
Heaven that we determined that this cannot be a literal description but rather a parable due to the fact
that scripture does not support what is being said here anywhere else nowhere else do we see Abraham’s
bosom nowhere else do we see that Abraham is actually there waiting for you uh nowhere do we see that Angels
carry us off to heaven or carry us off to Hell there’s so many things about this passage that cannot be supported
anywhere else in scripture and you know if you recall we determined that the the reason for this Parable was for Yeshua
uh to tell us the importance of listening to Moses and the
prophets or the word of God that’s what was the word of God for them at that time they didn’t have the New Testament
as we know they didn’t have Paul’s writings or the gospels they had the Torah the prophets and the writings or
the Tanakh and the point of the lesson was to pay attention to it and Yeshua used I
think intentionally used this idea this Greek idea of Hell to make a
Chapter 3: Biblical words for hell
point so words of damnation I think it’s important for us to know the difference throughout scripture of all the words
that we hear about damnation or about hell the word hell it’s
self has its origins in the Old English hell which is related to similar words in in other Germanic languages all
stemming from the protog Germanic Halo the underlying Proto Indian
European root Kel means to cover or to conceal reflecting the concept of an
underworld or hidden place over time Christian Christian theology shaped the terms meaning to to represent a place of
Eternal punishment this understanding was influenced by various religious texts and teachings including
interpretations of the Hebrew Bibles shol in the New Testament gehenna in the Book of
Revelation Lake of Fire and those are just three that I want to look at to help us understand how to read this in
our Bibles when we’re reading our Bibles so first is sh or grave that’s another
word for grave in the Bible a Hebrew term used to describe the Abode of the Dead a place of Darkness to which the
all the dead go both righteous and wicked it’s often translated as Grave pit or hell and that’s what we see in
psalm 16 for you will not leave my soul in shol nor will you allow your Holy One
to seek corruption now that that one verse right there Psalm 16:10 uh supports our discussion of last
week about Soul sleep uh as much as I don’t like that
term it is a a a a an accurate description of what happens in the grave
and here David is saying in psalm 16 you’re not going to leave my soul there you’re not going to leave my soul in the
grave gehenna is a term derived from the
Hebrew gome or Valley hom of a hom it’s an actual place a place outside Jerusalem associated with the burning of
refuge and later a symbol of ultimate punishment and fiery destruction gehenna is used in the New Testament to refer to
the final place of punishment for the wicked so gehenna uh is an actual place outside Jerusalem
where all things would continually burn you know where I live here in in Texas there’s a dump when I grew up in Arizona
there was a dump outside of town and we used to take all of our stuff out there all the time and and
dump it in the dump and mo in modern times they don’t burn it they just bury
it right they take all the the trash and they stick it into the Earth and they bury it with soil and then it’s that
stuff just composts over time well in ancient times they didn’t bury it they
piled it up outside of town and burned it and because there was all different kinds of materials and
combustibles in The Refuge it would literally be burning all the time uh sometimes it would be visible
fire sometimes it would be smolder but this place gehenna was a place that was
constantly on fire and so it became as it says there this this uh depiction if
you will of uh end times destination for the wicked and we see
that in Matthew 10 but rather fear Him who was able to destroy both soul and body in
gehenna there’s another word here that we just we already looked at briefly in Luke 16
Hades Hades is the Greek equivalent to scha so remember scha was the
Chapter 4: Tartarus and fallen angels
grave in Greek Hades is the Greek equivalent of that word used in the New Testament to describe the Abode of the
Dead like we see again Luke 16 and being in torment in Hades now there is a
question that we have to ask when we read this in Luke
16 why did Yeshua use the word Hades a Greek word here when in other places he
used scha and gehenna anybody want to take a stab at
answering that was he speaking to the Greeks yeah there’s two there’s two
reasons why was that Joanne yes oh hi Joe and Glenn glad you
made it uh so yes because this entire exchange opens up in Luke
15:1 where the Bible says then all the tax collectors and sinners Drew near to hear him the first reason is they were
he was speaking to Greeks and he was trying to make a point to their Greek
understanding however the second point and I think is the more plausible Point Luke himself was a
Greek and so when you see the word Hades uh in in your Bible you have to
keep those two things in consideration who’s the author I don’t think Yeshua
used the term Hades I think Luke wrote the term
Hades because uh he’s himself is Greek tardus some of us have heard this
word borrowed from Greek mythology tardus is a deep Abyss used as a dungeon of torment and suffering for the wicked
it’s mentioned once in the New Testament in reference to a place where fallen angels are kept until judgment now
without getting into all of this we know this passage in second Peter 2 for if God did not spare
the Angels who sinned but cast them down to tardus and delivered them into chains of
Darkness to be reserved for judgment is this hell the the translation uses the word
Chapter 5: Lake of Fire and Tophet
hell um but we have to ask ourselves what is this well if you recall and
maybe you don’t maybe you’ve not watched my teaching on the Nephilim but there were a second set of
Angels in Genesis 6 who left their Abode their position as uh as Watchers to mingle
with human women and because of that great sin they were put into this
pit this place called tardus in Chains until judgment they are there
now and they will be there until judgment and so it’s a it’s it’s a place reserved for
them and not Humanity where is it don’t know is it in the bowels of the earth
maybe no one knows so is tardus hell as you and I have grown up
thinking about it no it’s not it’s a it’s a it is a a the dungeon of Torment but it’s reserved for uh those those
angels then we see toet tophet is a term that refers to a place in the valley of Hom OR gay hen
near Jerusalem the name tophet means shame and it’s be it become notorious for the practice of child
sacrifice particularly to the God mole now who is Molech mooch is
obviously the same God as B PA or Satan they’re all or Nimrod they they’re all one and the
same uh but there was a place that was devoted to the sacrificing of children in that same area as gehenna we see it
in Second Kings 23 and he defiled toet which is in the Valley of the son of hom that no man
might make his son or daughter pass through the fire to Molech okay so here so far we have five
words and here’s the sixth the Lake of Fire that’s something that we’re all very familiar with if not with the other
five a term used in The Book of Revelation to describe the final place of punishment for the Devil the Beast
the false prophet and the wicked it’s depicted as a place of Eternal fire and
brimstone fire and brimstone will be key in understanding this study
when we see its usage in Revelation 20 then death and Hades or death and the
grave were cast into the Lake of Fire this is the second death and anyone not found written in the Book of Life was
cast into the Lake of Fire so here we have six words of damnation that we read about in our
Bible from time to time and I think it’s important for us to understand the difference are they all the same place
no they’re not all the same place but it’s important for us to know what they
Chapter 6: Fire and brimstone origin
mean fire and brimstone see on the screen there an image of Yeshua the
coming Yeshua keep that image in mind as we go through this Genesis 19:24 then the Lord reigned
Brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah from the Lord out of the heavens this is the first time that we
see fire and brimstone actually show up in the Bible and it just happens to be Sodom and Gomorrah something that we
looked at in great detail some weeks ago but this fire in Brimstone had a source
it didn’t just appear over Sodom and Gomorrah and rain down the Bible says that this fire in
Brimstone came from the Lord out of the heaven s well what could that mean we’re going to we’re going to try and figure
that out Jude chapter 1 so also Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighboring towns
since they indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire in a way similar to these angels are now
displayed as an example by suffering the punishment of Eternal fire Okay the
reason why God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah the way he did other than choosing some
other way he could have had it raided by Bandits he could have had it flooded he could have had a tornado blow through it
and destroy it no there was a reason why he did what he did with Sodom and Gomorrah Sodom and Gomorrah obviously is
a type for what the world will become by the time Yeshua returns solom and
Gomorrah was a very Wicked place where there was no no rules No Boundaries uh there was no morals no
moral compass everything was possible any desire you wanted to have fulfilled was
fulfilled it was a Despicable place and this discipline of fire and
brimstone is now as Jude says an example that’s the
example of what’s going going to happen with the punishment of Eternal fire in the
future but again we keep seeing this Brimstone and fire this eternal Fire
coming from the Lord and that’s what I want to explore in this lesson so Sodom and Gomorrah is the example of what the
future Eternal fire will be like and we have to ask where does this eternal fire where does this punishment of Fire
where does this Brimstone and Fire come from again we’re asking the question is
it a place an ethereal place or an actual place in the bowels of the earth that is
constantly burning that is a dungeon for the lost that is always on fire that souls
are down there eternally burning with the devil and his Pitchfork and the demons causing
Havoc is that what this eternal punishment of fire is is that what the
brimstone and fire is where where does this fire come from or is it something else and I think we’re going to see that
it’s something else Isaiah 30:33 for toefit was established of old yes for the king
Chapter 7: God is a consuming fire
Molech it is prepared the breath of the Lord like a stream of
Brimstone Kindles it okay so
toit is that place outside the valley by the valley of
hom uh where the garbage is being burnt where the children were sacrificed to their worship of Molech and the Bible
here says the breath of the Lord Kindles that fire so that’s an interesting thing that
we have to keep in mind going forward Exodus 19 we know this when the
Lord descended on Mount Si his presence the mountain was completely in Smoke
because the Lord descended upon it in fire okay so we’re getting closer to
understanding what the actual hell is going to be by looking at some of these
verses the the brimstone itself the the fire itself is God’s breath and when he
descended on Mount Si he descended in fire you see it again in Exodus 2 the
angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of the Bush
now this was when Moses talked to Jehovah at the burning bush but even then he revealed himself
as fire so it’s what we have to understand
is that he is a consuming fire our God is a consuming fire and we’ve all heard that
phrase um many of us haven’t stopped to ponder exactly what it means besides just some allegorical statement about
God but the fact remains that he his presence is a consuming fire Exodus
24:17 the sight of the glory of the Lord was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children
of Israel so it appeared to the children of Israel when God was there on Mount Si it
looked like the mountain was being consumed now I’m I’m not sure how many of you have actually seen a
wildfire or a mountain that really is being consumed by fire but it’s a scary
sight and here in the eyes of the children of Israel it appeared that Mount Si was being consumed by fire
simply because of God’s presence Ezekiel 1 427 then I looked and behold a whirlwind was
coming out of the North a great cloud with Raging Fire
engulf Amber out of the midst of the fire also from the appearance of his waist and upward I saw as it were the
color of amber with the appearance of fire all around it and from the appearance of his waist and downward I
saw as it were the appearance of fire with brightness all around what are we looking at here this is ezekiel’s vision
of the almighty and as he looked at this image
all he can see is fire above the waist and fire below the waist I find it
interesting that he sees a waste at all if there’s nothing but fire above it and below it but he obviously saw a
figure of raging engulfing
fire Daniel 7 verse 9 I watched till Thrones were put in place and the Ancient of Days was seated
this is Daniel’s vision of end times His Garment was white as snow and the hair of his head was like pure wool
his throne was a fiery flame its Wheels a burning
fire Revelation 1 this is John and his vision then I turned to see the voice
that spoke with me his head and hair were like white wool as white as snow and his eyes like
a flame of fire and his countenance was like the sun shining in its
strength any of you ever directly looked into the sun you you can’t do it for more than a
moment the second you turn your gaze to the sun you your body almost has a a a
reaction that you can’t control it’s kind of like sticking your hand into a flame your body has an instant reaction
to remove it to pull it back it can’t handle it it’s the same way with looking up at the sun we look but we can’t we
have to turn away immediately because of that brightness and here both Daniel and and John are sharing a very similar
experience of what it was like to see the almighty God
which is striking which is weird because this is an image I pulled off the internet this is the uh what’s this
thing called from Lord of the Rings it’s a it’s a ball Rock it’s a ball Rock and there’s an image in in The Lord of the
Rings trilogy where the wizard faces this demon of the underworld well I pick this picture
because this is the depiction that we so often associate with
Satan that he is this fiery dragon and the fire that people are going to be dealing with in the end
times is his fire is is his Raging Fire when in reality based on the
scriptures that we’ve already looked at it’s the exact
opposite it’s it’s not Satan’s fire it’s not his fire it’s God’s fire each of
those visions that we just read along with everything as a description of him
God all include words like fire flame lightning and the presence of the
sun itself so Satan is not the one who’s flaming in
Chapter 8: The Lake of Fire logisitics
fire Yeshua is the one who’s flaming in fire Daniel 10 says a river of fire was
streaming forth and proceeding from his presence what does this mean well in in a in a few more slides
here we’re going to be talking more about this Lake of Fire and when I read about the Lake of
Fire my mind I I have to try I have to ask okay what’s the logistics of
this um is it is it an actual Lake and if there’s an actual Lake
where’s where is it going to be is it going to be in the afterlife when all is done when yeshua’s reigned for a
thousand years and he’s done away with all of his enemies and the new Earth and the new Heavens is here and we’re in
Paradise what’s the logistics of this Lake of Fire going to be is are going to be a place like that in the new Earth or
in the New Jerusalem is that the case or is it something else and I’m open to either
one of the possibilities here but let me explain this the second possibility when I read Daniel 10:7 I
try to Envision this and the only way that I can think of what this might look like have you
ever seen a bride in her bridal gown with a gown that has
this gargantuan tail this beautiful flowing gargantuan tail that stretches out 10 12 15
feet or a king or a queen who has that same flowing robe where the robe just
flows out from behind them this is what I this is what I Envision when Dan Daniel says that this
fire was streaming forth and proceeding from his presence be because of his presence you
look at that picture there that I’m I’m showing on the screen there was just this Lake like a bridal
gown could appear to be a lake proceeding from her there was this river
or lake of fire proceeding from his presence now I’m painting that picture
on purpose for you guys to understand where I’m going with this ultimately
so it’s important for us to understand that the fire that we all read about have read
about especially as it pertains to end times is
his and not Satan’s and it’s easier for us to ask who is the
Eternal fire rather than to ask what is the Eternal or Eternal fire and we’re
going to see that the Eternal fire isn’t isn’t something that comes
with Satan it isn’t something that God Sparks in the center of the earth the Eternal fire is
actually his fire because he is the only true Eternal one
and so his fire is the Eternal fire so it’s not being removed from
Chapter 9: Destruction from His presence
God’s presence that causes the burning it is because of the presence of
God that all things burn that All Things become
hell to put it in vernacular that we understand Isaiah
33 who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire who among us shall dwell
with the Everlasting burnings and of course the answer to that question is nobody well I shouldn’t say
that if when we are resurrected we resurrect with our new bodies as we discussed last week then we
will be able to withstand the fire but unless we have our new glorified bodies the answer to
this question is nobody nobody can dwell amongst that fire second Peter 3 the day
of the Lord which is what the coming of the Lord will come as a thief in the night in which the heavens will pass
away with a great noise and the elements will melt with fervent heat both the earth and the works that are in it will
be burned up why is it burning up why are are the mountains melting with fervent heat it
is because Yeshua having rolled the heavens away has stepped into our
reality we’ve talked many times about the fact that we are not compatible with the presence of
God no more than we are compatible with a nuclear reactor we just can’t stand and nothing
can stand by the way not just humans but reality itself that’s why the physical things like the Earth the trees and
everything in it will be burned up at his arrival Isaiah 66 for behold the Lord
will come with fire and with his chariots like a whirlwind to render his anger with Fury and his
rebuke with what with flames of fire for by fire and by his sword the Lord will
judge All Flesh and we’re going to see what that looks like here in a moment and the slain of the Lord shall be many
what does it mean to be judged by fire well we’re going to see that the veil
that separates our Dimension from yahovah will be rolled away at his coming and Humanity will will be exposed
to his fire and we and corrupted Earth as I said are not
compatible with his presence his presence will literally melt the elements and the mountains Psalm
97 a fire goes before him and burns up his enemies around round about his Lightnings light the world the
Earth sees and trembles the mountains melt like Wax at the presence of the
Lord at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth Micah 1 for behold the Lord
is coming out of his place he will come down and tread on the high places of the Earth the mountains will melt under him
and The Valleys will split like Wax before the fire like Waters poured down a steep
Place Psalm 21 your hand will find all your enemies your right hand will find those who hate
you you shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of your anger that’s the
second coming the Lord shall swallow them up in his wrath and the fire shall devour
them thew vers 10 for if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth there no longer
remains a sacrifice for sins but a certain fearful expectation of judgment and fiery
indignation which will devour the adversaries so over and over and over again we see that is because of the
presence of the Lord and his return that all of these things happen have any of you seen the movie
Independence Day uh with Will Smith if you recall if you saw that
movie there was a part in the movie when the ship had hovered over Washington DC and finally open fire for the first time
it blew down this this Flame or this beam into the White House and it exploded and then it just created this
conflagration of of fire that just spread and it just kept spreading and
kept spreading almost like it had it it wasn’t going to stop it just wiped out a
100 square miles of just you know Earth and everything that that’s very much so what it’s going to be like when Yeshua
touches down uh the the mountains literally will M uh will will melt like
Wax and his enemies will literally be Dev devoured by fire so it’s a pretty
graphic depiction of the return of the Lord here in terms of fire and I think what we’re
going to see is all these things that traditionally we have attributed to
hell are actually biblically attributed to to the presence of the
Chapter 10: Refining fire and judgment
Lord seasoned with fire all the stuff I just showed you looks pretty scary but
the truth of the matter is this fire that’s coming none of us will
escape Malachi 3 says but who can endure the day of his coming and who can stand when he appears
for he is like a refin refers fire so that’s an interesting word choice there used by
Malachi that this fire is a refiner fire it’s going to do something it’s going to
accomplish something it’s going to prove something when he returns Mark 9 says
everyone will be seasoned with fire again another interesting choice of
words by Mark that seems to be in line with what Malachi said so this fire
that’s coming none of us will be able to escape but we’re going to see that it’s got a purpose Isaiah
66 for behold the Lord will come with fire and with his chariots like a whirlwind to render his anger with Fury
and his rebuke with flames of fire for by fire and by his sword the Lord will
judge All Flesh so again a verse we looked at earlier Fire’s got something to do with
judgment 1 Corinthians 3 if anyone Builds on this foundation with gold silver precious stones wood
hay straw each one’s work will become clear for the day will declare
it because it will be what revealed faled by
fire and the fire will test each man’s work of what sort it is if anyone’s work
which he has built on it do endures he will receive a reward if anyone’s work is burned he will suffer loss but he
himself will be saved yet as through fire so here Paul is trying to tell us
that the fire of the Lord is going to accomplish something it’s going to reveal what’s
what amongst God’s people how did you build it’s going to
test each man’s work 2 Thessalonians
1 when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire taking Vengeance on those who do
not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ these shall be punished with Everlasting
destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his power when he comes in that day now that word
from is not the best usage of uh
translation uh the word is APO or Ara so and it basically means because of or by
virtue of the presence of the Lord so it really should say in the in the box
below these shall be punished with Everlasting destruction because of the presence of
the Lord and because of the glory of his power when he comes in that
day so these people who are going to face Eternal
destruction it’s going to happen as the result of his
presence not because they were cast into some
dungeon we are going to see that people are cast into the Lake of Fire but that’s different that’s
different than this traditional view of
Hell imagine the Lake of Fire being the Gown of the Lord that proceeds from
among him okay they are punished because of the presence of the Lord and that
Everlasting destruction I think is more of a description of
Yeshua then I do do believe that it’s a description of um time
meaning as long as Yeshua is around there is destruction it’s Eternal it’s Everlasting because nothing can stand in
his presence right and so train with me here if you can I’m
trying to provide what I believe to be a a Biblical description of what we have always
thought of as hell being this destination for
Sinners so we see that it’s his fire that we will be tested if we have built with precious stones we will
survive the furnace of his fire if not we will suffer loss and many will simply not stand but we have to
explore this Everlasting destruction I touched on it a moment ago a little bit but we have to ask the
question is there going to be Eternal Hellfire for every lost
soul Eternal damnation and for
whom this again is the immediate image image that pops into people’s head when they think about hell I told you earlier
on that I would show you a second depiction of that image this is it this image of a devil with a
pitchfork tormenting people for eternity I’ve already shown that this is
more of a Greek idea than it is a Biblical idea so
Chapter 11: Death versus torment
we’re going to look here at the moment for the difference between a traditional hell as we have come to know
it or the lake of fire Death By Fire versus torment by
fire there’s a difference in the Bible and I think this is going to really help you
understand um this topic a little bit better we see verses like Matthew 5:22
throughout scripture you call your brother a fool in danger of Hellfire Matthew 13 angels will come forth
separate the wicked cast them into the furnace of fire Mark n9ine better for you to enter into life maimed rather
than having two hands to go to hell and into the fire that shall never be quenched Matthew
25:41 also say to those days on the left hand depart from me you cursed into the Everlasting fire prepared for the devil
and his angels so these these verses like the ones we’ve seen before tells us
that there’s a destination event for the Unfaithful and those who never cared
about Yeshua fire furnace flame
destruction but is this event Eternal in nature for
all of the above of or just some is it an
everlasting Hellfire for all who hate Yeshua and if I were to ask you that
question right now I would say the BK of you if not all of you would would answer
to that that question in the affirmative yes everyone who doesn’t love God or
serves Satan is going to be in this eternal Everlasting Hellfire
forever and I think what we’re going to see right here and right now is that’s almost
true but not entirely true forever and ever here we see in Revelation
20 the devil who deceived them the devil Satan aatan and liil
hey liil was cast into the Lake of Fire again what is this
Lake well I personally think it’s the result of God’s
presence was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the Beast was cast
and the false prophet was cast and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever okay so here we
see in Revelation 20 this forever and ever business and who’s
there Satan the Antichrist the false prophet and
remember we looked at the verse earlier that this is the place
prepared for the devil and his angels okay
this place this Lake of Fire is prepared for Satan and his angels
so as John says in Revelation 20 that’s who he sees there the devil the Antichrist false
prophets and his his angels where they will be tormented forever and ever okay
but just a few verses later John talks about the great white
Throne what is the great white Throne well let me briefly explain it to you in the way of a
timeline when Yeshua Returns the dead in Christ will be resurrected those who are in the faith
the Ecclesia will join the dead in Christ in the air to be with Yeshua in
the New Jerusalem as it descends A Thousand Years passes by with
Yeshua reigning on the
[Music]
throne during that Thousand Years the the devil is locked away Satan is locked
away at the end of that Thousand Years the Bible says he is released and given the authority to uh mess with the
Nations again Yeshua try iphs as a result of that final
war that’s when the Bible says the devil is cast into this Lake of Fire along with the Beast and the false
prophet and then the great white Throne judgment happens what’s the great white Throne judgment the great white Throne
judgment is for all those who were not resurrected at the return of Yeshua
only the faithful in Christ will be resurrected at the return the rest of the world who are not people
of Faith remain in the grave during that time they will come they will be resurrected here at the great white
Throne judgment to be judged so that’s what’s going on here in Revelation 20 I saw a great white throne
and him who sat on it from whose Faith the earth and the heaven fled away and there was found no place for
them and I saw the dead small and great standing before God and books were
opened and another book was open which is The Book of Life and the dead were judged according to their works by the
things which were written in the books the sea gave up the Dead who were in it and death and the grave delivered up the
Dead who were in them and they were judged each one according to his works
then death and the grave were cast into the Lake of Fire this is the second
death and anyone found not written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of
Fire we see again in the next chapter the Cowardly the unbelieving the abominable murderers sexually immoral
sorcerers idolators and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire in
Brimstone which is the second death neeva inquired about the second death
last week here’s what is happening what is the second death all these people who were not in Christ are resurrected to
face the great white Throne judgment they’ll be judged according to their
works will some people in that judgment make it by the Skin of Their Teeth probably others
won’t and those who won’t make it who don’t find their names written in the Book of Life are cast into the Lake of
Fire which lake of fire the very same Lake of Fire that Satan himself was cast
into but the Bible says for them there is a second
death well a second death just like the first death you cease to
exist no more awareness no more Consciousness lights out so the question is how can these
individuals be suffering for eternity in the Lake of Fire if they are
experiencing death Lake of Fire death it’s it’s a it’s a
contradiction they are experiencing the second death so how can they be there for eternity that’s the question that we
have to ask it’s the it’s the devil the Beast and the false prophet who are tormented day and night forever and ever
they don’t experience the second death it’s the hum Humanity it’s humans
who were the the murderers and the liars and the rapists who are cast into that Lake and
experience a second death in other words they they’re tossed into the same Lake that Satan and his angels are
tossed into but they experien death because of that Lake and what we’re
going to see here is that there’s a harsher sentence for some that is a little bit different than the
bunch that we just looked at let me read that real fast in chapter 14 of Revelation the Bible says the third Angel followed them
saying with a loud voice if anyone worships the Beast and His Image and receives his mark on his forehead or on
his hand he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God which is poured
out full strength into the cup of his indignation he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of
the Holy Angels and in the presence of the lamb and the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever and they have
no rest day or night who worship the Beast and His Image and whoever receives the mark of his name
so based on that verse there appears to be two classes of damnation
for those who refuse to love God and follow his ways a second death by
fire but a harsher sentence for those who actively worshiped the Beast and received his Mark they will join the
enemy and his angels along with the Beast to be tormented forever and
ever do you see that so is is is all the LW in Hell forever and ever or I use that word
Loosely of course because we’re talking about what we think is hell is is all the lost in this Lake of
Fire forever and ever no the Bible does say that’s their end but they experience death as a result of
it what is left there forever and ever is Satan his angels the Beast the false
prophet and those who worshiped the Beast and took his
Mark so it’s a little bit different and again I believe that this Lake of
Chapter 12: End times timeline Q&A
Fire is uh some some have speculated let me just put it that way that the image
of gehenna outside of Israel where all the trash and stuff is
burning is what we will see at the end of days there’ll be a New Jerusalem and
a new Earth but just outside of the gates of the New Jerusalem will be this
gehenna or this Lake of Fire that people will literally be able
to gaze upon those inside of it Ed oh sorry I was going to say
Ezekiel and Isaiah both have reference to people being able to gaze upon the
beaten enemies of God uh for eternity so that’s the POS there’s a possibility that that’s the
case uh but is it a dungeon down in the bowels of Earth where you’re going to be living with Satan forever
no the Bible says that those Powers those entities Satan his his his angels
false prophets the beasts will be in this Lake forever and ever with those who worshiped
him Glenn do you have a question yeah so the people that accept the mark are they going to know that they’re
worshiping the Beast or will they unknowingly just accept it because of survival or gain I think both Glenn I
think that there’s come there’s going to come a time that this Mark whatever it is and I happen to believe it’s going to be some kind of DNA tag some kind of DNA
marker uh I think it’s going to be probably positioned as a way to become
superhuman and we’re already seeing that we’re already seeing the Genesis of that in in some places around the world but I
think it’s going to be this thing that the Beast holds over Humanity to become like him oh you think I’m amazing you
can become like me and because the world is the way they are they’re going to jump at it and
they’re going to jump at it out of ignorance because they don’t know the Bible they don’t know the word of God and so they’re going to jump at it in
ignorance and pay the price for it eternally some are going to know exactly
what it is and take it gladly sure I say the bulk of of those people
uh will be the uninformed the uninformed by their own
um mechanisms you know they they’ve not they’ve not studied the Bible they don’t understand and so they’ll be led
astray I’ve got one more question sure could you maybe do a little extra work
or maybe it’s coming show us a timeline of how this go the thousand years and
then the seven years or less you know what I’m saying that stuff confuses me yeah it’s uh it can be challenging for a
lot of people um but it’s it’s to me it’s I’m a visual person too like you
Glenn and uh you know so we have we have the
um Abomination that causes desolation um okay
that that happens when the Beast shows up and that’s going to start a
uh a seven-year tribulation okay trib’s going to come at that time and it’s supposed to be seven
years but it’s also supposed to be cut short for uh those of us in the eklesia
so this will be you know a seven-year period uh but probably more like
a you know three-year period for the faithful now after that is over you have
the arrival of Yeshua okay now by the way um during
this seven year we’ve we’ve we already looked at last the last couple of weeks that we’re going to be in the desert right we’re going to be in the
wilderness waiting for Yeshua during that time and then he comes and then after Yeshua comes he’s going to kick
some major booty around the world against his enemies and then Reign for a thousand
years okay and with with the New Jerusalem Humanity will have another thousand years with Yeshua on the planet
as a uh uh a a government so to speak that he is
a theocracy that he is in in charge of uh and then ask a quick question here so during
that thousand years is there does there continue to be life and death for those that are all in the New Jerusalem or is
it kind of status like we all live for a thousand years we we will have our new bodies at that time those of us in
Christ we’ll have our new bodies but yes death will still be around during that time for those on the
outside okay so the new those who are gathered at is coming the dead in Christ and those who met him in the sky those
will receive their new bodies at that time they have to otherwise they wouldn’t be able to exist in the presence of
God so we get our new bodies at the resurrection and we’ll live with Yeshua in the New Jerusalem for a thousand
years while the rest of the world is happening around us and yeah and I also believe that
lifespans of the human lifespan will increase during that time we we looked at this stuff earlier on in our other
lessons on the New Jerusalem uh but human lifespans will increase during that 1,000 year period okay so here we
are during this Thousand Years Satan is locked up but then at the end of the the Thousand Years Satan is
loosed um and then this is the Thousand Years uh that’s that that’s
ending uh see let just do end here okay now at the
Thousand-Year end Satan is loose to create one more final battle they approach the the the New
Jerusalem uh with all the nations trying to war against Yeshua well guess what Yeshua
wins right I’m sorry just doing this off the cuff Yeshua
wins and then that’s when Revelation 20 happens when all these bad guys are tossed
into the um the the Lake of Fire that is I believe coming from Yeshua his own
robes his own presence and then we have this great white
judgment where the rest of the world who is
judged and then they’re cast into the Lake of Fire and then when that’s all
said and done when all that’s done we have what’s known biblically as what and want to say tell me what happens when
everything’s done what’s it called the New Jerusalem the eth day oh
the eighth day okay and what’s happening what is that that’s another way of saying that’s
when we enter eternity so to speak with
Yeshua the um the new
Earth now my brother Doug Hamp I think I’ve shared this before brother Doug
Hamp seems to believe that when Yeshua returns here that he’s going to bring the new
Earth with him and that during the Thousand-Year Reign the new Earth will be here will’ll be living on the new
Earth and those who remained outside the gates will be able to experience the new Earth for a thousand years that’s
entirely possible I haven’t I haven’t studied that out myself yet I need to figure that out but there’s a possibility that the new Earth will be
here because remember when Yeshua comes he’s going to destroy it it’s going to be burned with fire so will it remain a desolate
volcanic environment for a thousand years or will he restore
it for that Thousand-Year period and that those who will remain those who are still alive outside the
gates will have a thousand years to enjoy the new Earth I don’t know the
answer to that question myself that’s what brother brother Hamp seems to think and he’s pretty brilliant but I want to
study it out myself but getting back to this after all said and done we get to have everything Paradise is here New
Jerusalem is here all judgments been done whoever’s going to be in the Lake of Fire is in the Lake of Fire and we
get to enjoy eternity with God so that’s a very brief timeline Glenn um and I hope
that it uh it helped I have more questions but I’m not going to ask them now I’ll ask you later
well it’s okay you can ask them now well on the time like when Yeshua returns he’s going to be a consuming fire and
all things will be refined and all things will be exposed and what what burns will last and what
doesn’t will be a loss are some people going to
be I’m not sure how to question it will some people not experience the next thousand years when everything’s
refined well on well some people not I think I think it’s difficult to WRA your brain
around uh but when Yeshua returns remember where is he returning to yeah to the Earth to Jerusalem spe
specifically he’s going to touch down amount of Olives right um now here’s some of my here’s the way my
brain thinks does the destruction that his presence
brings Encompass the entire planet or partial of the
planet you know does does it does it wipe out one hemisphere does it wipe out half you know I don’t know no one really
knows this the Bible says that everything will be gone through fire everything will be tested with fire and his presence going to destroy now it
also says that people are going to survive uh you know Isaiah Ezekiel both talk about people climbing out of the
mountains out of the caves after Yeshua uh comes back and they are shamed by
Israel they’re shamed by Ephraim so there is some indication that there will be survivors of yeshua’s
return how many survivors I don’t know is it thousands is it Millions I don’t know it’s it would be a speculation at
best but they will be able to live on outside the
gates during that time now what happens during that time outside the gates well the levitical priesthood will
be resurrected and people will actually be making sacrifices again outside the gates to have their sins
covered they can no longer at this point claim faith in Christ that window is
gone because Christ will be here we’ll be able to see him and so they going to
need to provide have a covering uh for their sins which means the sacrificial system will be
reenacted during that Thousand-Year period and they those people will be the ones that are going to be judged at
Great White the great white Throne judgment now the same time that’s all happening there’s a whole different
bunch of people world leaders and such who are scheming against Yeshua
and that is all going to come ahead come to aead at the end of the Thousand-Year
Reign hey Dad yes sir Garrett um you just mentioned the people that
will crawl out of the mountain I hearing this this consuming fire
couldn’t like I couldn’t help but relate it to numbers and God being dwelt in the Tabernacle and The Uncommon and the clean and the
unclean and and how they had to be obviously clean in order to even be around him um how is there maybe this is
a question for another time but what’s the justification for people like that that that survived that refining fire if
if like faith in Jesus right the elect is what keeps you alive during that
refinement period period how how is it Justified that there are people
that perhaps aren’t in the faith but still survive the refinement is that God’s mercy alone or is that like
because to me I’m like in numbers it was so he’s so incompatible with death and and to me I’m like trying to understand
that is it like a scientifical thing or it’s just incompatible but somehow they are spared from it because of his Mercy
or you know what is that question making itself clear uh sort of uh are you are you referring to the second coming are
you referring to after that’s all done and people come out of the mountains yeah like because he said like
the mountains will melt like Wax and there it’s it’s his fire that destroys the
Earth how how do people survive like you and then you also mentioned that the elect like everyone goes everyone passes
through the fire it’s just not everyone makes it out so how do those that get shamed by Israel and that aren’t in the faith pass through that fire if they
aren’t in the faith they don’t the only reason the only way that they’ll pass through the fire is if they’re lucky enough to escape it by hiding in some
cave somewhere long enough okay so the fire just isn’t isn’t
like all consuming of the earth it’s it sounds like it’s going to be yeah it’s difficult to know the answer how consuming it will be it’s I we don’t I
don’t know if it’s going to be Global or if it’s going to be local or or or what
that would be a guess but we do know that there will be remnants of
humanity still living after second coming so not all humanity is getting
wiped out by the second coming there’s going to be quite a few people that make it through somehow that
event and then it’s going to be like a a Noah moment where the Earth will be
repopulated again um back to you know millions or
billions um so I think humanity is going to be left few in number as a result of the second coming
when I say few I don’t mean eight like Noah but comparatively few you know maybe
millions and then it’s going to start all over again and have a thousand years to grow now how fast can Humanity grow
as a result of a Thousand-Year time period especially if their if their lifespans are elongated I think quite a
bit I think you get back up to the billions pretty fast um and
so those people will face the great white Throne judgment after the Thousand-Year
period some will be people of Faith some won’t thank you now laurian is over
there talking to herself what is she saying clearly has a question like I
feel like i’ never read the Bible before um I mean it’s so different from so much
of what I was taught I’m just trying to wrap my brain around it um so like the Thousand Years and I I want to get into the Bible
and study it out but if I do that right now I won’t be able to tune into this um like there’s no interaction between
us who are in New Jerusalem which will be us like we’ll be there in the New Jerusalem um and those that are outside
the gates correct like it’s like these dystopian movies where there’s a huge wall and you can’t leave and not that we
would want to but I don’t know i’ I’ve I’ve tried to find uh an answer to that question because I’ve had it myself
lauan how much interaction will there be between those of us who have our new bodies on the inside with those who
don’t have their new bodies on the out I don’t know I tend to think the Bible says we’re going to judge the Nations
if we’re going to judge the Nations that means we’re going to have some interaction somehow some way and I almost think that that during that
1,000-year Reign we’re going to be Servants of the most high we’re going to be you know we probably are going to be
interacting with the world in one way or another how what that looks like what’s the logistics of that I don’t know but
the the Bible does seem to let us believe that there’s going to be at least some you interaction it’s not
going to be like uh those who are outside the gates have already made their decision they’re their plight has already been decided
because they didn’t believe in je so I’m just curious not necessarily I mean it sounds like some you know during the
Great White Throne judgment that there are some that will still make it in yeah
so to answer your question Eric yes they’re they’ve made their decision that’s why they’re not inside the gates
right that’s why the the the the wedding at the wedding the guy was thrown out because he didn’t have his clothes on
right the parable that Yeshua taught so yes there are people who have made their decision uh outside the gates however
they’ll have time to repent if they make it through the second coming so if they if they get left behind and they go oh my gosh what have
I done how do I miss this they’ll have time to try to serve God during the
course of their life and then face the white Throne Judgment at the end and is it I mean what
scriptures talk about the basis then for that faith if it’s no longer salvation through
Yeshua is it always salvation through Yeshua right but it’s not because of like it’s not a faith in his
second coming no no no I mean in his in his death and Resurrection because he’s now there you know you said that they’re going to
reinstitute death sacrifice or sin sacrifices and such I mean is it it does it have a different rather than just a
faith in Yeshua is there a different you understand I think it’ll be I think it’ll be an issue of obedience for them
laurian because the Revelation 20 says they are judg according to their Works they can’t claim faith in Christ
because oh he’s right over there I can see the New Jerusalem there he is yeah to have faith in Christ requires a great
deal of effort and patience and belief on our part who are even though we don’t
see him trust in him that’s why the Bible is so clear in so many places
about the importance of our trust and our faith in him even though our eyes don’t see well in that time their eyes
will be able to see it’s undeniable so now it just becomes a matter of will I obey him or not and so for them I believe it’ll be
an issue of obedience does that mean obedience saves no Yeshua is still saves but now that
you see him what are you going to do just like Israel in the desert who saw
him saw him saw him saw him didn’t
obey Ed yes I have a question about the 24 Elders that are around the throne
when did they get there and I for some reason think that they were going to be part of the Judgment of people and I
can’t find anything to support that but that’s what’s in my mind like probably when I read the Bible all the way
through a lot of things stuck but now I can’t find them okay well again um that’s a big
question but I’ll I’ll try to I’ll try to give you a quick answer okay the 24 Elders that we read about in The Book of Revelation was a
vision remember the things that we see in Revelation are both history and
1 hour, 19 minutes, 21 seconds
prophetic okay like the seven churches that’s actual history John’s Vision all
in the future not happening in real time okay that’s a mistake that a lot of people make when they look at John’s
Vision they go oh this is happening in real time no it’s not he’s seeing a vision of the future so these 24 Elders
are they there now no he’s seeing a vision of the future so who are these 24
Elders well there’s a lot of speculation about that um I I personally if you ask me had
a gun in my head I would say it’s the 12 mezc priesthood it’s the 12
apostles okay I I see that there’s 12 12 people that served in the me mzc
priesthood up to Jacob I see that there’s 12 Apostles but there’s really more than that isn’t there M seven you
know there’s there’s there was 14 Apostles ultimately so which of them are
there um Judas probably won’t be there but you know so there’s speculation as
to who these people ultimately are I don’t think the Bible’s clear on exactly who they are I think you have to make
some educated guesses as to who they are but are they there right now no because the there’s been no
Resurrection so they will be there eventually but who they are I don’t I don’t know how to answer that
question okay anybody else brother I have a question
okay brother according to Bible when Heaven gone away Mountain
will be melt so how can Believers or men kind will be survived when there is no value front of
a Yeshua Second Coming mountain and Heaven how Believers or mankind will be
survived are you are you asking how will mankind be able to
survive if if you’re asking how will mankind be able to survive the answer to that is twofold one most of them won’t
many of them will not survive the second coming of Yeshua but the Bible is very clear that men will be
hiding from his return uh in the mountains now when the Bible says the mountains melt does that mean they completely melt down to water
or to Lava probably not they probably do melt but they don’t melt so far down that they the whole world becomes you
know like the sun there’ll be some melting at his presence but they’ll still be able to hide
you know in the United States oif there’s there’s very huge underground
caves um you know military establishments that go way deep under uh mountains in Colorado as a matter of
fact over there with laurine and er um and there’s there’s many of those around the planet I would I would dare
say that every government has some type typ of Disaster
Response cave underground facility where they can hide in the event of an atomic
you know War those places like bunker yeah bunkers will be able to hide thousands of people thousands during the
second coming and I think it’s probably those who will be coming out and and
starting the population over again okay all right thank you brother you bet
listen guys thanks for listening to this uh I would love to um if have if you have more questions you can shoot shoot
me a text or whatever um I want to encourage you all to not forget our brother o in uh in Pakistan there he is
he lives in a place with no AC uh with extremely high humidity and um has to live in that
those those conditions and teach his kids he’s wiping away sweat it’s a real deal for him and so I want to encourage
you guys if you haven’t already and you want to continue to or continue to help uh ASF he said earlier he’s trying to
find a way to get a um a fridge um and one one other the thing you said ASAP a fridge and what else was
it let’s see San and motorbike for traveling to outreach preaching and teaching okay yeah what did he say here
um for oh fans yes and thanks for teaching his kids uh so I continue to to
help and serve ASF and send funds when I can I want to encourage you guys to as well um and if you need questions
answered on how to do that please please let me know uh and uh we’ll we’ll we’ll get that done all right
well you bet shabbat shalom here comes the fireworks have uh have a great weekend
and we’ll see you guys next time shabbat shalom shalom
shalom
KEY TAKEAWAYS
- The English word “hell” can obscure important distinctions among several biblical terms and images.
- The Teaching treats Luke 16 as a parable whose central warning is to hear Moses and the Prophets, rather than as a literal map of the afterlife.
- Sheol and Hades are discussed as terms associated with the grave or abode of the dead; Gehenna is connected with the Valley of Hinnom; Tartarus is discussed in relation to fallen angels.
- The Teaching repeatedly identifies Yahovah as a consuming fire and connects end-time fire with His presence rather than Satan’s power.
- Sodom and Gomorrah are used as an example of judgment by fire and brimstone.
- Biblical fire is also described as testing and refining, including the testing of a person’s work.
- The Teaching distinguishes destruction/second death from ongoing conscious torment and argues that Scripture does not describe every condemned human as being consciously tormented forever.
- Revelation 20 explicitly describes the devil, Beast, and false prophet in torment forever and ever; Revelation 14 is treated as describing an especially severe judgment for Beast worshipers who receive the mark.
- The Teaching places the Great White Throne after the thousand-year reign and describes it as the judgment of those not raised at Yeshua’s return.
- The closing Q&A separates firm claims from open questions about the exact logistics of the Lake of Fire, survival at Yeshua’s return, interaction during the millennium, and the identity of the twenty-four elders.
